Locking is an action, right? So when a ship "locks" is the action. Otherwise it would say "when an enemy ship acquires lock on you" if it was whenever lock was acquired. I'm not naysaying. I am definitely uncertain on this, but this is my reasoning.

From the rules reference:

"When a ship performs a LOCK action, it acquires a lock."

[edit] - Sooo, I don't see a difference. I could see something funky if it was a transfer, like with Holdo, but clear to me otherwise.

You can take the lock action, or you can acquire a lock from sources like Dutch.

The cards ambiguity is broad so I believe @Gennataos is correct. It doesn't specify when an enemy ship acquires a lock, neither does it state when a enemy ship takes a lock action against you. It plainly reads when you are locked, whatever the source, whatever the range. Even e-wings or ships using probe droids are likely susceptible.

If its sitting at one or two points then maybe it debatable depending on the list your trying to build, now I'm not even sure ATP still isn't better value at this point, because I think it will trigger more.

I don’t want to sidetrack the thread unduly into Ferrosphere Paint stuff, but I think ATP makes for a good comparison: Ferrosphere Paint should be 1 point . At 1 point, you’re spending a point and filling a slot for a situational benefit that could be either somewhat useful or completely useless. It still probably has an effect on most opponents, in that it forces them to consider their choices; but I struggle to think of a list that it’s really going to bury.

Maybe initiative-scale it if you’re really worried? Keep it at 1 point up to I4, then 3-4 at I5-6?

FP would be great in a....whole different meta, lol. There's so many ways to get passive rerolls right now it's dumb. I'd take it on Poe at 1-2 points, but it probably wouldn't help much against the stuff he'd need help against.

At 1 point, it'd be worth taking, if only for non-Nantex Separatists. While droids have decent blues, slowing them down for a turn vs. DRK-1 droids or limiting the HMPs that will always want a lock would be nice. If it does work on acquired locks, it would be good against Wolfpack and Synced Console. Anti-Vader tech for cheap would be nice, too.

I agree! 1 Point it is....to the printer!
