Is anyone able to explain this card? from the ETA-2 expansion preview.
I've wanted to be able to have a Jedi lead a wing of clones in epic but obviously there's never been an option to do that, so this give me hope but the card doesn't say you can have a wing or tell you what ships can equip it, confused how this works?
Yea, it doesn't make sense as-is because it doesn't define the user as a Wing Leader nor does it state what ships the wingmen must be composed of.
Simply put, v it's not actually a wing leader card. The name is certainly confusing here.
Currently, as written, Instead you would form a wing with a normal Veteran Wing Leader card of all one ship type and then equip this Jedi Commander card to one of the wingman . Remember, all the ships in the wing still have one Epic slot available. So in an all Aethersprite squad 'wing' you could in theory have one wing leader and five of these as wingman. Also, if a pilot card has two Epic upgrade slots,(none do that I know of) it could also be equipped with a Wing Leader card AND a Jedi Commander card, stacking the effects.
That's pretty much it for now. Until they release more wing leader forming cards perhaps in the future. Or, perhaps they plan on adding a base version of Wing formation that doesn't require a card. We just don't know right now.

My assumption when reading this card was that the squad building info is on the reverse side of the card.
And checking the new app, it looks like I'm right. You can have 2-5 V-19 Torrents or 2-5 Nimbus-class V-wings as wingmates. Pretty cool!

I noticed in the ETA2, there's a Wing Quick Build. The Jedi Commander is given Supernatural Reflexes, which brought up a question.
If the leader boosts (can't barrel roll because it would fail thanks to your wingmates being in the way) before its activation, based on the Epic Rules Reference (page 4, Forced Spitting, 5th bullet), the wing would split.
So if an Eta2 Intuitive Controls a boost, the wing splits.
I believe we're intended to be able to do the jedi tricks while in a wing, but based on the rules, I think we cant.
...unless I'm misinterpreting the rules.
