Maul's Probe Droids

By Lemmiwinks86, in Star Wars: Legion

I just realized it also reads “Construction” or something for unit type, so they’re not troopers. Wonder if they’ll be able to be Engaged in melee. They’re weapon can also do melee which is interesting. If Maul needs help the guys could tie up a unit (if they can be Engaged).

It says droid trooper?

Sorry, I just could not read that and I swear it looked like Construction to me, but then again, I do need stronger glasses.
So at least they can Engage a trooper unit to tie it up, especially if the troopers haven’t activated and Maul could be in trouble.

So these are probably gonna be my first/only SF unit I've been able to get for the droids...at least they look nifty and I was planning to run Maul anyway so win/win

Theses dudes are awesome!

I guess the flying droid from the Specialist Pack will be similar, but just with Observe 1

some kind of observe for sure. maybe observe 1 but as a free action, otherwise it would be really weak.

I could see it being Observe 2 as an action, but probably pretty cheap.

Which is basically Electrobinoculars (takes an action, lets another unit reroll 2 dice), which pretty much no one takes on Corps in competitive lists since you need them to do other things with their actions. If that's what it does it's dead on arrival.

Electrobinoculars lets one of your units get an aim for an action and costs more than just adding another B1. If the viper droid gets you two observe tokens, that's putting a target on an enemy that any of your units can spend as necessary, plus an additional wound for the squad the droid is in.

That's far better than the binoculars, depending on how much it costs.

Yep. Can see that included in a filler B1 squad if it's less than a B1+binos, maybe 10ish points

I don't recall the wording of Observe Tokens from the insert. Has it been confirmed if they are removed after being used by a unit or at the end of the turn?

They are removed when used or at the end of the turn.
This might be slightly off-topic, but do we know what expendable card comes with Darth Maul? It's on his insert but I can't think of any cards that have been confirmed that he might come with.

Like a one time use card? Cause Seize the Initiative is a one use. Weird that he might get a command slot though

I think he also come with Seize the Initiative. I'd have to double check the spread.

Yes, that's Expend. That must be the card. Seize the Initiative is a Training upgrade, not Command.

Back to off topic for a second, the observer droid attachment could also have Observe 1/2, Exhaust, and Cycle to make it more worthwhile without using one of the squad's actions.

As to Maul, Seize the Initiative seems likely, as that would be how to get the new card in faction for CIS. The only photos I have seen show the back of a single force card so far, which doesn't tell us a lot about upgrade slots. 1-2 training slots seem likely for both Seize and the stances.

Anger, Comms Jammer, Fear, Force Barrier, Force Choke, Offensive Push, Aggressive/Defensive Stance, Seize the Initiative

More like "back to the actual topic of the thread," lol. Yeah, I hope that's how the droid works. I'm assuming it will have Noncombatant, though I'm not certain since that model could be armed.

Article is up now btw.
