That boost to lock as the only link, on a 4 health ship 😳

Contrail could be nice with ESK. Turn an eye to a blank for opponent, easier to ionize. Toss that crit astro on him for guaranteed crits too. Standout Vwing pilot with high init and passive mod ability.

Klick can be a nice support ship. R3 astro on him and lock 2 ships early in game and then just focus there on out. Let him help your jedi not take range 1 shots aka turn scum fenn into a normal fang (no 5 dice for you!) or neuter Bobas range 1 shot. His ability alone could save a couple health per game to an important ship. A ship like Kanan has to spend a force to neuter attacks. Klick has potential. He doesnt have to spend his lock, only his charge, so that ability stays until klick dies pretty much, just dont spend your lock!

I can't recall if things like Fenn's pilot ability count as a range bonus, or if it's only the extra die for being at r1/r3.

The old 1.0 Talonbane text (double effect of range bonus) would be meaning he would loose all the dice boni if locked by Klick (on the other hand that text would be ridiculous 6 defense dice against 2.0 Huge ship weapons ar range 4+).

Fenn Rau and Talonbane in 2.0 both I would interpret as loosing one die. Klick removing the range bonus. But Fenn and Talonbane are still at range 1 or 3 respectively and get a pilot ability defined as dependent on being in a certain band and not defined as dependent on key word "range bonus".

I am just going to say, giving an R7-Series droid to the Republic triggers me xD It was first designed and developed for the E-Wing Starfighter. Years after the V-Wing stopped being constructed.

But seriously, this seems like a solid addition to the Republic. I still whish for a 3 dice clone ship other than the bulky ARC, but hey... Crits into Ions seems like a fun mechanic, if you can ensure they will land. A neat little control tool. The I4 seems like a super fun support ship, but I fear it will be priced accordingly. I really like to see another I5 that is not Oddball, but surprisingly the later might actually see play now. Although the lack of Boost > Red Focus really sucks for him.

Hmmm what you brought is worth..... one point portion.

(strategic movement is actually good but generally very low point cost. See struts and other ignore rocks things also. Note for collision detector is strong but not sure worth its points)

I was more thinking that if you throw 2 ships in aggressively (both locked thanks to R3), whoever the opponent attacks you can still block a R1 bonus die.

There are 2 great reasons this has 2 attack dice:

A. In the lore, it is essentially a precursor design to the venerable TIE/ln, which has 2 dice.

B. In the game, FFG has managed to limit themselves to basically "2 or 3?" They refuse to do 1 (which, IMHO is dumb} and 4 is power creep. So, any ship isn't a major slugger/powerhouse gets 2 attack. It sounds like this ship is meant to be a swarmer, so 3 attack is probably too much.

I've been looking forward to this design. And given that I like the N-1, 2 attack doesn't bother me at all.

Unrelated to the topic at hand, but I saw the same thing here, and the more they release new ship, the more I think they dropped the ball here when designing V2. They would have so much more range if they had added basically an extra die to every stat, and made basic weapon go from 2-4 for basic ship, 5 for heavy hitter like Upsilon and torp. having the choice between only 2 attack stat feels limiting to me. For proof, lots of people here wanted the Vwing to have 3 dice, but when you look at it you kinda see that it doesn't look like the ship should hit as hard as an ARC or a Xwing.

Honestly, like Darth Meanie said above, I'd say the better solution would be to simply print ships that largely aren't combat ships with 1 attack. Then not everything in the game would be clumped at 2-3 with the rare exception at 4. They have clearly decided not to go that route though, so here we are.

For the record, by canon specs, this is a perfect example of a proper 2 dice ship, it just feels silly to compare it to a tug/unarmed shuttle shooting the same 2 dice.

I also feel the need to point out that this is the first 3 agility platform that has access to dedicated, which could make for a pretty sturdy swarm (Sponsored by Obi Focus)
