Any word on a collectors edition of Deathwatch?

By Valour, in Deathwatch

I have the CE of Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader, and would really like to get Deathwatch in Collectors format. So, any word on this?

Word? No.

However, as both Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader had them, and they subsequently sold out, I would be shocked if they didn't do one.

I'm checking every day to see if it's for sale.

I am checking close to daily myself as well.

Have the CE of Rogue Trader. Failed to get a CE of Dark Heresy (still seeking one and will pay $500+ for it). I intend to get 2 copies of Deathwatch CE if they allow for some type of Certificate that has a character name on it. I want two Marine Seconding Papers ^_^ .

Check out Dark Reign "General Discussion," Cailieg. There's a chappie on there that is trying to get rid of one for a rather hefty $875 but doesn't want to give any money over to eBay.

ModsFeel free to this if it is inappropriate in some way.

Yea the same chap has it on the bay for $900. I just think thats a bit too much, my cap is $750.

Thanks for looking out though Kage. I am going to send you a pm over there anyways as I would like to ask about having a project resurrected. Or are you still on "break"?

Send away. Given the recent status of the fan community on various forums, it's less break and more looking for reasons to stay around. I'm sure that I'll be able to help you out, though. gran_risa.gif

I just pre-ordered the collector's edition of Warhammer Fantasy. An amazing edition.

I am looking forward to have my name on the paper declaring i am a space marine in the deathwatch chapter and am going to hunt down the xenos scum and eradicate them from the universe

When we get our CE of Deathwatch, who will also get a standard edition? Also, I am slated to play in a preview game at GenCon this year, and I am sure there will be many of the games creators there. Assuming the CE is out by then, would I be crazy to get it signed? What about a regular edition - should I get that signed?

would a collectors edition be announced well before it actually went on sale? if it's anything like the original Dark Heresy collectors edition that sold out in I believe 7 minutes I doubt a lot of people would receive one. Though Fantasy Flight may intend on producing a significant number of Deachwatch collectors editions to satisfy most customers.

I'm quite shocked about the prices people would pay. How much is a CE when bought in the shop?

About $130 USD after taxes for a brand new one.

I would gladly pay a good healthy chunk for a DH CE, but alas seems such may never be the case.

I simply cannot wait for the chance to get my hands on my DW CE.

*scratch that, may actually get a DH CE now. Found a lead*

By found a lead I mean that my local FLGS owner is selling his!!!!

Alexis

Congratulations.

I tried to google the CE of DH. Leather bound, limited to 200 copies and a poster. Is there more?

Any inkling of what might be in it?

Only educated guesses. Something akin to Rogue Trader CE, perhaps; expensive book, some certificate or another and a nice box to pack it all in.

I want it for the simple reason that my DH rulebook is rapidly approaching "severely tattered" status, and I'm waiting in breathless anticipation for the pages to start fall off (a bit of a problem with the original WH40K Rogue Trader rulebook, I recall). In comparison, the Rogue Trader CE seems more sturdy, and the paper is nice, and the covers are really nice, and it comes with a blue satin bookmark ribbon and everything...

There are worse reasons to throw $120 (plus shipping) at a book. I hope.

So . . . about that collector's edition.

I would imagine that FFG have learned their lesson from last year and will not be releasing any details about the CE until they have it ready and they are quite close to the release data and people don't wait months and bug them everyday about when it will be shipped as they have taken their order.

I would hope that the product would be ready to ship the same day as its released at games day, but if its the same as last year i would imagine we will get it about 1-2 months after games day.

What were included in the CE of DH/RT? I am interested but if a fancy cover, a bit of paper and a book mark are it, then I don't know if I could justify spending $200AU on a role-play book.

Not too sure on the DH version but the RT version which i got a copy of was very nice.

Here is a link for a video that shows someone unboxing their copy of RT.

DH collectors edition number 11 just sold on Ebay for £286

I hate to be a pain but my computer has filtering software that completely blocks YouTube so could you possibly describe what comes out of the box?

The book is leatherbound, with silver gilt edges (shiny). It looks fairly pretty, and the inside has the collector's number out of 1000 stamped on it. The book comes in a larger box, which is this really nicely decorated foldout box that looks like a giant tome. Also, the first 500 books received a special fan-boy-tastic certificate complete with Imperial wax seal and addressed to the owner, declaring him an official Rogue Trader.

Meh... I dunno. I can't see myself paying double for a leather bound book, but I've never owned one. So whatever.

If I have the money I would get it, I was impressed with the RT version. Number 403 here... Still the box was destoryed by my roommates dog. The paper and seal waxed warrent are fine as I have it placed in a frame, best way of keeping it safe.
