Can you walk through servants?

By The MechE, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Like the overlord's raven and scourge servants?

Servants are treated as Minion Monsters in their own monster group. So friendly figures can move through them, but enemy figures (e.g. Heroes) will consider those spaces blocked.

Piggybacking off Charmy's answer, it's important not to confuse "miniature" with "figure". The servants are flat tokens, but they're as much a figure as (exactly, a minion monster). Similarly, the beastmaster's wolf familiar or the necromancer's reanimate familiar are figures, even though they're represented by tokens, while the shadow walker's shadow soul is not a figure, merely a familiar. It's a lot to keep straight.

To help with clarity I like to replace the familiars and servants that are treated as figures (e.g. Summoned Stones, Ravens, Wolf, Brightblaze) with actual miniatures (lots of good links to suitable proxies on the forums), while leaving the exceptions in token form (e.g. Skye, Shadow Soul).

Really helps with battlefield clarity, which is especially appreciated by newer players.

It definitely can help- but then if there's one or two things you can't replace, it raises these questions. This is why I think it's important to keep the gameplay category separate from the gameboard physical object.

So servants are treated as figures? We were having trouble finding rules on that.

Yes, they are. If you check out the section on servants in either the Manor of Ravens or Chains that Rust rulebooks, you'll find,

Quote

The servant token is treated
as a minion monster in its own group, using
the information found on the Servant card,
and follows the same rules as other monsters.

"treated as a minion monster" specifies the figure classification, as minion monsters are also figures. Specifically, since they're monster figures, monsters can move through (but not end movement in) a servant space but heroes cannot.
