Does fire convergence in the LAAT work on yourself if you fire a missile?

Let's take a look at the text first:

The tactical drawback of course is that you have to have your own turret pointed forward to do it instead of pointed at the sides to give you massive 270* coverage.

Or you could use Multi-Missile Pods to get some overlap of the missile arc and your side arcs.
