What’s been announced lately?

By Cpt ObVus, in Star Wars: Armada

Hey all. Took a break from Armada these past few months to dig a bit deeper into X-Wing. Came back to hear a bunch of chatter about new (Clone Wars) releases (at long last!), possible points changes and errata, and seeing pics of new upgrade cards with new layouts and symbols. Trying to make sense of it all. Has anyone collected all (or even most) of the news and spoilers into one place (or in a couple places, maybe)? And where has this info been coming from? The FFG news feed doesn’t seem to contain most of this stuff, unless I’m missing something.

Thanks!

Not to state the ObVus, but lately nothing has been announced

The only sources of official information have been the product pages, and the live stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8CAZ3qiZ6Q

I wouldn't expect any hard-info articles until probably the week before or after US Thanksgiving in November.

The wiki has organized what we've seen: https://starwars-armada.fandom.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Armada_Wiki#The_Clone_Wars

But bear in mind we don't know the terms for some things. For example, I'm currently using "starts with" and "resupply cost" for the blue and red bars on the new upgrade cards , but we don't actually know how the rules refer to those features.

So some unofficial conjecture, and a few spoilers with little context. Got it.

Has it been confirmed that they’re actually working on a “v2” rules adjustment, and/or new point costing for existing ships and upgrades?

Near the end of the stream they discuss that. It's more like a "1.5" in that everything you currently have can continue to be used (no conversion kits), about 18% of the currently 220-ish upgrade cards will be getting some kind of change but we don't know if that's full-on errata or if that's both errata and smaller updates like point changes. They aren't changing any ship/squadron points yet but that is something they're looking at. (They did reveal that unique squadrons with defense tokens are limited to 1 per 100 points in the fleet building limit; so in a 400pt game you can only take 4 aces.) Pass Tokens might be proliferated to other types of ships or something to balance activation advantage, but we don't have anything concrete other than "more pass tokens for more things".

Great, thanks all! Suppose I’ll have to go watch the stream!

Has most of the revealed cards, and are the ones who interviewed a dev on their podcast (which is when the ace cap was revealed).
