LOS to spaces occupied by Large or Massive figures

By Dr Tan, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

Does an attacker have LOS to (and thereby target) spaces occupied by a Large or Massive figure that are facing away from the attacker? This arises if the attacker has the Blast ability and wants to deal damage to hostile figures hiding behind (and adjacent) to the Large/Massive defender.

If the answer is "Yes", should the minimum Accuracy required be to the occupied space that is nearest to the attacker or to the targeted space?

There is no facing in Imperial Assault. Ah - you're just just using "facing away" to mean "the side further away".

The attacker and target do not block line of sight, so you can often target any of the large figure's spaces. This can be used to avoid Protector/Sentinel triggering, and like you say, Blast affecting other figures.

By RAW having a target space further out doesn't affect the required accuracy, because the required accuracy is the distance from the attacker to the target, not to the target space.

Thanks for your reply.
