4-Score Scum Fun (Extended)

By Spinland, in X-Wing Squad Lists

This list is an almost direct klep from a fun thread about must-have 1.0 ships. It's a distillation of posts by @Archangelspiv , @CoffeeMinion , and @5050Saint , and I thought the results were too much fun not to split out and share here in the lists-specific forum. Scum is one of the three factions (along with Resistance and, FSM help me, Rebels) I care about, and I'm ever-interested in lists that generate Scummy fun.

Here's my take on combining their ideas:

4-LOM (49)
Elusive (3)
Advanced Sensors (10)
Qi'ra (2)
Mist Hunter (1)

Ship total: 65 Half Points: 33 Threshold: 5

Captain Seevor (30)
Ship total: 30 Half Points: 15 Threshold: 2

Palob Godalhi (40)
Moldy Crow (18)

Ship total: 58 Half Points: 29 Threshold: 3

Black Sun Enforcer (45)
Passive Sensors (2)

Ship total: 47 Half Points: 24 Threshold: 3

Total: 200

To repeat @CoffeeMinion 's notes:

Quote

The gist is that 4-LOM always dials in a red maneuver, always takes a pre-reveal action, and always pawns off his stress on somebody else at the end of the turn. The trick is that the pre-reveal action can be a target lock on an obstacle that you’re going to fly through. And hey, since you’re always doing reds, why not always have a defensive reroll from Elusive while you’re at it?

My only change was downgrading the Black Sun Assassin to an Enforcer to fit the points limit. That left two points to play with so I opted for Passive Sensors though you could just have the bid. That leaves you an I2 pilot that doesn't fit the I3 of the others; you could drop Passive Sensors and give up barrel rolls by dropping the Mist Hunter title and upgrade the Enforcer to an I3 Assassin. Alternatively, if that extra evade doesn't matter to you, just drop Elusive to get the Assassin.

Between obstacle-ignoring and/or Xtreme blocking, token stealing, jamming, and a slippery StarViper skulking about this list seems (to me) to embody the idea of Scum Shenanigans. 😎 🍺

Seems very scummy. I like.

I'd drop Passive on the Viper, as focus is statistically just as good as a lock.

Another route would be to drop the Viper and swap to either a named Kihraxz or to another G1-A. If You go the Zuckuss route, you can put Debris Gambit on Palob so he can have 2 focus + 1 evade going into combat + what ever he can steal.

Something like this, maybe?

As much as I likes me some Vipers, it's also fun to consider that, in addition to avoiding the other shenanigans, you have to guard against getting "Grazzed" up the tailpipe.

I love Graz. He's too expensive for my taste, but definitely Scum fun. Try him out. His ability is cool, but hard to pull of in a ship without boost. However, it is fun to shoot at RZ-2s that are running away and shooting you, since your ability still applies.

Cool!

Yeah: I figure for a flanker to have good effect they need to be a credible threat, and he seems to be a good fit for drawing some attention away from his mates. The more things the other side has to fret over, the more chances for making mistakes.

I like Graz but yeah, he is a bit too dear. His ability is just so blank, so often, unless you stick a bit more daftness on him, like Cloak, Contraband, Afterburners, Outmanouevre.......

His ability does provide a question mark for your opponent, but it's generally quite an easy answer and doesn't buy you as much distraction/punishment as you pay for.

Still, as a fit in that squad, I like it. Packing in as much unignorable nonsense as possible is a valid Scum tactic :D

One thing to watch with this sort of thing, is too much debuff. Sometimes I find one of them never has anything to do and should have just brought a bigger gun instead. I think you do have to play it a few times to see though.

I see the fourth ship slot as the one that's the best candidate for swapping around new ideas. This one might be getting too fiddly, but it seems fun. Make Quinn a 3-red 4-green pest who can at need retreat and regen a charge token for either busted stealth or for torps.

I Love 4 Lom! its the most scummy pilot in the game. 😁 its just great for blocking and the pilot ability is soooo nasty. I allways had problems to find fitting premades. this list looks perfect for that. will defnitly try this! Thanks mate <3
