Rise of Red Skull questions

By mike8104, in Marvel Champions: The Card Game

1) Where can I download a printable copy of the campaign log? The manual says it's on the support page` but I can't find it.

2) Crossbone's Machine Gun: When does the Interrupt occur during an attack? Do we draw a boost card first for his standard attack, then the machine gun interrupts drawing another card from the encounter deck? Or does Machine Gun interrupt the entire attack and replace it?

1) it’s not there yet - I’m not sure if Hall of heroes have a copy scanned on there.

2) the timing isn’t hugely clear - it doesn’t replace the attack. I’ve been flipping the card for machine gun before resolving the rest of the attack.

This is what I’ve been doing too, having the interrupt occur immediately before the boost card is drawn.

So, if Crossbones has Machine Gun and attacks:

  1. Reveal the boost card from the encounter deck and apply bonuses to his primary attack
  2. Deal damage to the defending character
  3. Remove a counter from Machine Gun, reveal another card from the encounter deck
  4. Deal indirect damage equal to the bonus icons

Is this correct or is all damage dealt at once, with part being direct and part being indirect? I couldn't figure out how to apply Captain America's Sheild Block in this situation because it wasn't clear whether the machine gun, as a weapon, is part of one attack or if it's considered a separate attack.

I’ve been resolving it 3, 4, 1, 2

The machine gun damage is completely separate from the attack damage.

Based on the definition of "interrupt" in the Rules Reference, I think that's probably correct then. It says an interrupt is triggered by the corresponding condition but resolved before the triggering condition.

Does anyone know who the guy coming out of the emergency teleporter is?

Solo. Mostly a Spider-Man character, very 90s from memory. He's got teleportation powers but not sure if it's actually tech or not, so might have just been a case of them using 'guy teleporting' for the art.

More recently he's hung out with Deadpool as a part of the "Mercs for Money" team- sorta poking fun at the Heroes for Hire.

So I know that there has been a lot of Madame Hydra's in the marvel comics, but I always assumed the one from marvel champions was Viper. But then she was a nemesis, so I just assumed that Madam Hydra from marvel champions was a different Madame Hydra, and was going to find out later which one she was. But then on the comic panel in the rise of Red skull, when Crossbones calls them all fools and tricked them, Madame Hydra is seen on a motorcycle getting away. But she looks exactly like Viper!

So which one is she? Are they both the same person? Because that wouldn't be very narratively pleasing. Am I the only one who wishes that they had put the enemy's alter ego names under there names just like the friendly characters?

LIke you said, there have been several 'Madames Hydra'. It's a title or rank, basically (like Scientist Supreme for AIM). I think there's been.... 6(?) that we know of. Viper was Madame Hydra for many years, but now there's a different one in the comics. However, Viper is commonly used in games and other media as Madame Hydra, since she's the most well-known version.

So you don't know which one she is for the legions of Hydra module encounter?

I believe the art (which is from a comic) actually is Viper...

When one head is cut off...and all that .

I remember one of the first comics I owned had Viper and the Mankiller Robot, on the cover with Cappy and Rick Jones as Bucky.

It's definitely intended to be Viper, considering the campaign story. Unless the Viper in the campaign is not meant to be the Madame Hydra that you've just fought, which would be stupid.

So yeah, I think it's just a case of it slipping through the cracks.

From the Legions of Hydra modular set I thought Madame Hydra was supposed to be Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, who was a SHIELD agent revealed to be a Hydra agent of the Soviet Leviathan branch, during the Secret Warriors series when Nick Fury finds out that SHIELD was actually under Hydra control all along.

I’m pretty sure the art is from All New Xmen and it’s the Viper version of the character...
