BX assembly

By XR8rGREAT, in Star Wars: Legion

What’s the best configuration to build the droids with the best flexibility for list building as I only managed to get one box of them.

My advice: build them they way you think they look cooler. There is no WYSIWYG in Legion, so no matter how you glue them together you can play them with any upgrades.

^This. And don't forget to make one of them the comic relief.

I magnetized 2 minis per unit. I believe they were the B sprue?

Now my B-sprue minis can switch between standard, sword, and shield. After that each of the D sprue (again, I think? It's the next sprue that had two copies) was assigned to either a sword or a shield.

That should give you the most variance and flexibility to use minis that match what you brought.

Also, shameless self plug of the 3 BX minis I finished painting.

When I was putting mine together the instructions said that there were two back mounted sword options for part d, but my set only had one. I don't see any option that had beoken off on the sprues, so is that a misprint on the instructions?

Yeah, pretty sure that's just an error on the instructions. There is definitely only 1 D12 part.

Learning how to magnetize is actuwlly oretty easy! I did it for the first tine for my BX's and it went real well. Would recommend 2mmx1mm magnets!

There is one D12 and one A06, which are identical, but yeah only one component labelled D12.

I too magnetized mine. For the interlocking gun/shield setups, I glued the gun in place and magnetized the other arm to be able to do shield/sword/empty hand. For the swords that attach to the back, I installed a magnet in the torso and glued a small square of sheet metal to the blade since it's too thin for a magnet.

I was very tempted to put a yellow LED on the hands clutching the shields, but I'm not sure I'll run shields enough to be worth it. Might just stick to LED lightsabers...

There is for Heavy Weapon and Specialist upgrades, but not any other upgrade admittedly.

From page 79: "Trooper upgrades add specific trooper minis to a unit,
represented by unique sculpts to easily identify them."

So for the BX models, the only thing that matters is that the sniper, dioxis, and Leader are recognizable in some way (first two it is easiest to include their weapon), but use shields and swords however you want.

Good point once I get a second box I’ll be able to have a full squad with shields and one with swords.

I bought three boxes for maximum posability! 1 squad all swords (with a unit leader dual wielding 2 swords) and couple of squads with shields.

I also hate that they made the sniper a running pose so I did an arm swap on some of the standing poses for all three snipers.

I think the running pose is taken from the episode The Deserter, since other than prone that is the only way we see the sniper rifle being used in that episode at least.

I also don't like modeling snipers as running though, but I see where they drew inspiration from.

BX and Droideka don't have those.....that's all of the other series.
