Heavy Hitters

For some reason, people are starting to bring out the heavy hitters and get them on the table. I don't see why πŸ™‚

But anyway, I thought I'd share a few flavors of heavy hitters to use in coming weeks.

Holo + Upsilons. I love this because Holo can easily shed negative tokens to the Upsilons who can more or less deal with them. Could also be used to set up a target lock if Holo isn't entering the fight.

This one is pretty evident and has shown success in the GSP events. All i5's is nice. Rey hits hard and the other A's have good ways to modify their dice to put on damage. What I love about this list is it has a clear path to victory. I just I need to trade Rey for more than she's worth then either pick off what's left or dodge the best I can with the A's depending on the table state.

I'm really kinda bummed "Carbonite" hasn't been adopted as the name of such builds.

This I accept and sympathise with.

But my Latts is precious to me, I think she's a step up from all other such builds and deserves her own stupid title. I just like mashing all the words whenever I can :D

Tbh, she doesnt stay overly still. The constant CC is more about enabling 2 hard/3 bank through and onto debris, with a side order of 'when will it stop!?'.

Picture Jabba chasing a desperate Han around the inside of the ship with a carbonite aerosol, crashing into and through everything. It's stops when Latts is crushed up against the inside of the bridge and can't reach the controls.

I see Han very much unfrozen and comically panicked.

Its pretty good. Im flying Holo double Ups in a jank tank tourney my local group has been doing and currently 3-0.

Holo

Stridan w/ Kylo crew, HLC

Cptn Cardinal w/ Thanisson crew, Freelance slicers

Obviously not the most efficient since its jank tank. Cardinal ability is useless, and those 7pts on Card in upgrades could be proud and pattern on Holo.

What it has is two ps4 upsilon capable of getting double mods each. Stridan can take a lock + has force. Card can lock and get a focus from holo. I took out a YT1300 in 2 rounds.

It also has nasty tricks. Card self bumps into stridan, stridan coordinates a lock to cardinal, holo gives cardinal a focus for a full mod shot. In one game i got 3 full mod range 1 shots in a row.

Ps4 is really nice too wiping out low generics.

Holo is everything though. If he dies, its game over. Luckily, he cant be locked cuz he passes it off to upsilons.

It one game, stridan was just trying to survive and kept 2 sharping around a small rock and coordinating holo evades, while he was locking and focusing. Mean little bugger, that Holo.

List is really fun. Im not sure it survives in the real meta with ships that can catch holo, but its great in jank tank.

I've mostly thought of it with Moralo Eval, to just warp in and park and be nasty.

But more activity with the build is probably good, too.

Seems fun.

With some nice big debris dumped around the middle of the table for Latts to plonk herself on, there is no escaping the double modded 4/5 dice. It's super nasty. Her area dominance from that position is monstrous, but things that aren't swarm or beef have a tendency to just try and run away :D

Worth mentioning how her ability dissuades/punishes people attempting to get in close behind her, the only real position where a YV will never be able to get them in arc again. (This is where the tighter 2 hard turn comes in very handy)

It's one of my very favourite pieces of game warping BS, there are no folks in my area who have faced it and do not now massively fear it. Mwahaha.

Do you think Cardinal at i4 is better than Tavson's ability? I could go with something like Stridan w/ Kylo, Tavson, Holo with Proud Tradition & PA at 196. That gives me another i4 which is a nice to have. And I do like that double mod with Kylo's force point.

Tavson is better, just be careful about giving stress from holo to tavson or you turn off his ability.

With cardinal, it is nice moving either Ups first though since strifan and card are both i4.

Stridan and Holo have been a nice combo though. That range 3 coordinate has saved my bacon a couple times. In one game I just ran with stridan once the enmy ships were behind him, using him strictly as a coordinate machine for holo. My two Ups did like a total of 1dmg the entire game, and Holo did everything: killed torrent, lil ani, and Ric.

I’m V tempted to go with power cells on Holo. I get the PA works nicely when you need to sloop but man this could really help recover if you mess up. Maybe just the Rebel player in me relying on regen too much πŸ™‚ but it’s nice that I can send the disarm to an Upsilon if it doesn’t have anything in arc. Could sub the Tavson upgrades for Kylo on Stridan.

Powercells can be nice in this squad to keep holo alive, since he is your heart.

Stridan coordinates like every round, so kylo gives him some offense mods. But in your squad, tavson doesnt want to use pattern cuz he will be stressed. Pattern better on stridan, so he can stop and coordinate if he has to to help Holo.

Personally I'd drop Lu'lo, Rey - Nien - Zizi combination is a better option.

If your not clingy about all I5's then Kaz for Zizi might also be something worth exploring.

Rey - Bastion - Jess if you want pure efficiency.

Rey/Nien/Zizi seems like I have to make sacrifices on upgrades that each ship really loves. I would have to trade optics on Zizi for Nein to have PA. Lu’lo keeps me with a small bid and has the time on target with no real loss in upgrades.

Got another game in my jank tourney. Had a close game but got the W vs a Kaz,Ronith,T70,BB8,Rose list.

Holo is really good with Upsilons. In a key round, kaz locked Holo, so I tossed the lock onto 1 hull Stridan who Kaz couldnt shoot this round, setting up the next round.

The following round, with Kaz lock on Stridan, and stridan on 1 hull, I felt good the opponent was going for the kill. So I do a stop maneuver with Cardinal, Kaz turns in front of cardinal going for Stridan. Holo passes a focus to Cardinal for a range 1 shot on Kaz.

Love all the tricks you can do.

Just to check, this is Jabba (crew), Han (gunner), Contraband Cybernetics and Trick Shot on a YV-666 piloted by Latts?

I've been trying to get something out of my Starfortress for a while. It kinda works to tank but its not that hard to get around unfortunately.

Latts is the driver tbh. She can't hide where she's going very well, but she can really mess with expected timing. She draws them in and opens up flanks if they want her, or charges and forces them into corners if they really don't.

But for simplicity, atm I'm mostly using 2 Firesprays and 2 Scyks for Hyperspace.
