Source books

By j-tech2, in Deathwatch

So with the upcoming Core Rules in August, I got to wondering what other books that they might release for Deathwatch. I'm really hoping for a campaign setting, a villain codex, and possibly a written adventure. But I've yet to hear of any announcement for more content. Do they honestly expect that this game will be playable out of the book for an extended amount of time?

Maybe that thing is jammed pack with this stuff already, who knows? But I'm pretty sure they won't have all the stats for Eldar, Tyranids, Orks, and other heretics all in the Core Rules.

Well, thus far we've seen an additional equipment book and adventure book for each of the published games. I wouldn't be surprised to see the same with Deathwatch .

Guessable ones:

Weapons, Armour (more vehicles, not marines in spandex) & Gear

3 part campiegn

more Chapters & Homeworlds

Xenos by the ton, more than the Creatures anathema stuff re-jigged

and finally "Bringing it ll together" where players are able to field a character from Each of the Core/Expanded books together.

And possibly a Campeign where in part 1 you play the Inquisition cell, part 2 where you play the rogue traders and part three where you whup ass with the marines.

So far all three lines have had four items as the foundation:

Core
GM Kit
3 Part Adventure
Equipment/Players guide.

I don't see why they wouldn't continue in this manner.

My guesses:
We might see custom Chapter creation rules in the GM kit.
The equipment/players guide will probably hold several of the major Chapters.
The adventure book will revolve around Storm Warden background.

Down the line:
Traitors and Renegades – RH and DotDG
Xenos – CA

For now though there is plenty of solid material to work with in the DH line.

I would actually like to see some books which cover all 3 lines (DH,RT, DW)

im fairly sure they will release it like the following as RT seems to be turning this way too

GM kit

3 adventures in one book

equipment book with extra ranks/careers

book of cults/creatures/evil things

creature book

parts of a 3 part adventure

probably a choas legion book

and finaly an upper level rank book like ascension

I think you're on to something there, ThenDoctor, but I reckon the creatures book will be much more of a "Xeno Scum" sort of book, detailing lots of new and interesting xenos races exclusive to the Jericho Reach.

Having also re-read the Sabbat Worlds Crusade sourcebook, I'm also interested in the political manueverings of the upper-echelon of the commande of the Imperial Crusade staff, so it would be cool to see a detailed setting book.

Perhaps they may even make a Grey Knights expansion. That would be a book that connects Dark Heresy and Deathwatch.

deathwatch is already connected to the inquisition being the main xeno purging force of the Ordo Xenos, the Storm Wardens have dealt with the inquisition as well this being part of their backstory with the specific goal of purging a xeno threat and losing much of their chapter in the battle

Even if they don't, the fans are going to do this. Indeed, I wouldn't be surprised to see the production time of that fan supplement to be within a few months at the very least. That and websites or threads on the forums that will be aimed towards creating a Horus Heresy setting, more generic Chapter rules, and the like.

The fans are crazy like that. gran_risa.gif
