I think a third ed. is more likely to happen before an errata CS, but these ideas could certainly address some people's frustrations with extended meta.
Easy fix: Make this a new upgrade, don't call it "Crack Shot." Maybe something like "Bullseye Shot"?
Kind of how Supernatural Reflexes was reworked into Precognitive Reflexes.
I don't hate the "if you have 2 of fewer attack dice" change to Crack Shot, similar to how FO-Hask and TV-94 work. If that's in place, however, I'd let ships higher than Init 3 equip it. Like, there aren't many folks flying Init 4, 5, or 6 ships with 2 red dice with Talent slots. A-Wings (Jake and RZ-2s) are about it, and most RZ-2s don't even run Crack Shot anymore.
I don't want to give it 2 charges, though. One is enough.
