Some interesting things there but I am just a bit worried with the ships offensive capabilities... the thing is just covered in guns but just gets a measly 2 firepower for a medium base.. hmm

You think you're excited. My Rebel ARCs finally get a second gunner option. I guess you could argue that Ezra or Luke were options, but paying 12 or 26 points for +1 force with no ability always felt a bit pricey.
I am annoyed though that none of the jedi crew have a '+' next to the force modifier. I really hope this is something they can still fix, but it's probably too late and they already sent the cards to the printers.

More guns does not equate more damage. We are dealing. What you have is more coverage. You have 50% coverage in terms of chance to attack.
These are not dedicated fighter craft. The weapons are generally used to clear out an area or enemy ground troops for landing. Hitting a fast moving target versus a slower ground target requires different weapons. So while the x-wing game currently does not have ground units, the designers still have to take the intent into account.
Finally, game balance is a thing. A tie punisher has only two attack dice and is medium, but has other options - like this craft, which has WAY more coverage.

Agreed... more gunner options is good. Nothing is worse than building a missile themed bomber and only seeing turret options. At least the arcs have the veteran tail gunner as an option.

It depends on the price. It always depends on the price...
1 hour ago, ClassicalMoser said:D eadeye Shot will hopefully be pretty cheap. Maybe Marksmanship and Deadeye Shot make a neat combo for A-Wings? Free critflip if you get a bullseye. Then again, if they're damaged you might as well just use the crit anyway so kind of hard to see the use here...
I agree. It's gotta be 1 point, 2 maximum, right? The timing window in the match of it being really useful seems pretty short. The ship needs to be damaged but not so damaged that the damage you are doing won't just kill it. Also you would only use it if the ship already has some nasty crits you know of and are hoping to proc again. Compared to Crack Shot and Marksmanship this feels weaker than the former and about the same as the latter.
Now, if it instead said that you get to choose and expose a damage card a la Thane Kyrell, then we would really have something.
I will be very surprised if it is more than 2 points.
Edited by Skitch_It'll probably be ridiculously expensive but a Juking ARC with Fives?
Edit. It also feels like their could be interesting shenanigans afoot with Deadeye Shot and Bariss in the same squad.

If Deadeye Shot is 2 points, in what case would you take it over Predator or Crack Shot?

As a Scum player I'm actually pretty excited about Suppressive Gunner. If I understand the order of events right, you can shoot a missile, and if you don't like the roll and have a focus, you can spend the focus for Suppressive Gunner and then use Munitions Failsafe to cancel the remaining results. Which is great for Mag Pulse missiles, since you have very high odds that atleast deplete (or damage) goes through, and if you have an "overkill" result you can spend a spare focus to get a bonus deplete/damage. Cluster Missiles also seems like it could be abused to spread the deplete love to two targets at once. And since Scum has (iirc) the cheapest I6 Missile+Gunner slot ship in Scum Han, I can see some fun janky missile builds to abuse.
Mag Pulse+Failsafe Han + Guri + Fenn with 13 points left to pay whatever for Suppressive Gunner on Han looks like
fun
degenerate cancer if you're running anything with low agility. Especially RAC, getting double depleted and jammed before you can even shoot is evil.
Have not read any comments yet but Rebel Han likes Suppressive Gunner. Unless it's stupid expensive or initiative scaled, that is a great upgrade for Han.

Ahsoka gunner, battle meditation, and Darth sidious come to mind.
Man, I havent been excited about the recent releases or announcements (or what little there had been), but I'm super stoked for all the thematic stuff that can come out of this.
It'd might be silly to double down on these effect but adding Deadeye Shot to Thane or a ship with Optimized Prototype might be fun to play with.
Thane could flip two cards and just save his focus for defense, while an Optimized Soontir could do the Duncan method just spend all his offensive results while keeping Focus + Evade for defense.

Just you wait until the double missile slots to put on barrage rockets

So excited for this expansion. That ship ability is really cool, just hoping it doesn't jack their price up too much. Generic clones seem to be getting a lot of love here, and the crew/gunner options could be so useful on a variety of ships. Aayla in particular seems really interesting to me. Can't wait to start building with her and all the other Jedi masters once the points are known.

By Republic daring to take a 6th ship before Scum gets ships 20 and 21?

Hrm... If I'm reaching, maybe TIE/x1 or Gavin Darklighter. They get the "free" crits already, probably don't need rerolls (so no Predator) due to almost surely already having Locks, and there's at least some benefit over Crack Shot. Maybe.
Strikes me that DES is a more-guaranteed thing than Crack Shot. I think CS is probably better, but DES is basically weaker Thane, and while Crack Shot greatly increases the chances of pushing damage, it isn't automatic, and against the right opponent it can maybe add more to a bad attack than Crack.
Again, CS is probably better, just looking for cases where DES might not be bad.

Yeah, Thane seems really cool. Potentially flip two cards. Pretty niche though, since not a tonne of ships will ever have two face-down damage cards on them.

It could make Thane really consistent or at least very annoying.
Torani could be a candidate and would triple down on her bullseye.

Wow.
Troll much?
*CLEARLY*, this expansion doesn't **** on Scum, so we're happy to see it.
I wasn't going to respond to this. I wasn't going to feed these drama queens. But **** it.
I love how this expansion gives so much support to Clone-centric list building. I can't wait to see what my locals put on the game mat. I imagine we'll see a lot of "Warthog" with maybe a Sensing Jedi or an Informant and a mini-swarm of Torrents. Seems really good.
Deadeye Shot: people are forgetting how often potshots--often through clouds--are in bullseye. Another big thing is that the attack doesn't need to hit. Even if a single modded roll generates all garbage and 1 hit, it will be useful. It will be good but not superpowerful.
I think the RZ1 will benefit most from it. Maybe Baron of the Empire if he spent that focus on defense, but it has to compete with ruthless.
So Warthog with Wolfpack means Torrent swarms are difficult to initiative kill and can acquire a lock after being attacked if other card conditions are met. Behold these tears of joy.

Wait, can he burn the focus and then reroll everything? If so, I am extremely happy.

This is why I think Thane Kyrell might be slept on. I've used thane to flip Direct Hits range 3 though a cloud, and kept my focus for defense. The hardest part of using his ability is that he is I5, and shields are often still up for his shots.
I'm thinking deadeye should be somewhat cheap, as it is bullseye limited, so competition with Crack Shot might be a thing, but if CS is cheaper, CS is better.

Doodles "Warthog" with wand in the air. Rearranges the letters: "OG Wrath".
*insane squealing intensifies*
