Yeah, it is a bit frustrating, but at least there is something of a date. For others who also pre-ordered through MM, they were very happy to spit my Arcs off from the rest of my order. So the rest of my order is shipping, and when the Arcs come in they will also ship. I did have to call to ask, but there was no problem.

Out of curiosity, but did they charge you additional shipping?

No. They are not charging shipping for either part. And neither part would qualify for free shipping on their own ordinarily.

Good on them! I wasn't sure and figured it was worth inquiring.

Give them a call. MM was very helpful, and understanding.

Received my Miniature Market email update too for 2 Arc Troopers being delayed. MM is always nice to work with but 6 months for an expected restock? FFG is really behind on this game. They're going to end up killing it like Destiny.

You mean 'completing it like Destiny' right?

The stock situation is an absolute mess. As a new player who bought a bunch of stuff during lockdown cos the game looked cool, I'm starting to think I've made a mistake as apparently this isn't the first time FFG/Asmodee oversold and underdelivered, even before the pandemic.

Asmodee seems so afraid of having to keep product in a warehouse that they regularly underproduce the initial wave. One would think they learned by now...

I love how everyone is getting officially cancellation and "delayed until Feb" messages from where ever they bought the ARCs, but we've yet to hear a peep from FFG/Asmodee. It's not surprising, because they seem absolutely allergic to communicating with their customers, but it's annoying.

I just got my ARCs!... Only to find it contains 2 duplicate sprues of only 3 of the sculpts...

And with the Asmodee policy of "Not our problem, talk to the store where you bought it"...

I am sorry for your loss. 😔

So since Asmodee apparently aren't going to deign to let us know what's happening - have any stores been given a concrete reason for this nonsense that they've shared? At this point it's not even about the ARCs & BXs anymore, I'm more fussed about whether this stupid situation is going to recur next week with Inferno Squad.

So internet rumour (for whatever that's worth) is that the reason these shortages are significantly worse than normal is because a significant amount of the product suffered unspecified "water damage," which could be anything from "fell off the boat" to "the drinks that were being transported in the same container leaked all over them." According to the rumour, the source is a store asking their distributor. Take it with a grain of salt as with most internet rumours, but it it as least plausible.

Yep, just had to email the vendor, which really sucks coz their customer service really came through for me this week just to get the bloody things out.

I was told when the stuff hits the US there are only 2 points of entry. Everyone picks one of these 2 sub distributors points and gets their stock from them. One of these points got nothing, the other got everything they wanted. This would add credence to the feast or famine stories we're hearing everywhere. I ordered 1pack each from an online store that sold 182 commando droids alone and got those Monday. I went to my lgs to pick up a second pack each to round out the numbers and they got nothing bc they ordered from the wrong rep.(i don't know of its a regional thing or what)

That's what i heard. My store usually gets whatever it orders so i was shocked when they had nothing. Something must have happened to be this short (worse than phase 2 scarcity)

Update on my story.

Refresher first. I ordered from 4 stores in 3 states. MM, an eBay store with over 12000 positive reviews, and two local.
MM sent the email, and moved my orders around so that the ARCs were cancelled, and the BX will ship with my next order (Clan Wren, Inferno squad - provided those are not also fracked up by FFG/Asmodee).
eBay store cancelled order suddenly and refunded me. (When I ordered they had multiple available - apparently eBay does not do well with multiple simultaneous orders - I'm still watching to make sure they don't relist the ARCs at eBay scalper prices).
Local store #1 - got 0, but they get very little Legion in at all, so probably given low to no priority - I cancelled.
Local store #2 - had 8 people place preorders for 1+ boxes. They got... wait for it... Exactly ONE (1) box of ARCs! Less than 12.5% of their requested order. I've left my order with them, even though they informed me that I was significantly down the list - and first order is first served. I may cancel in the future.

Addendum:
I saw an eBay store put one up today that I caught withing 5 minutes of them listing it, and they listed it - with shipping - at only MSRP.
I ordered it.
It was a sole item buy-it-now, no multiple item one, and the item disappeared from search after I ordered it.
I will see if it ships.

I will see if a 5th store in a 4th state is the lucky store...

This is an insane situation. No company should be so bad and getting new product out to players. Can you imagine how much pure hate filled vitriol a video game company would get for consistently shipping something like Red Dead Redemption at only (lets be generous) a 70% stock rate? It's bonkers.

I got lucky, I only ordered one box of ARCs from MM. They ended up shipping a couple days after release with the rest of my Armada order. Hang in there, we have all been there. ****, in terms of legion I have only been able to pick up the one pack of ARCs and a single squad of P1 Troopers. Been a slow role getting into the game

1) Had I not preordered B2s from CoolStuffInc, I would have had no problem getting them at our local store. Unfortunately I waited, didn’t cancel my order, our store sold out, and I still don’t have my preorder which has been held up since last November.

2) Asmodee/FFG are not manufacturing product to fulfill store preorders. This isn’t a Kickstarter campaign.

3) I don’t think a toy company owes anyone an explanation as to why everyone who wants that toy can’t get it immediately. Investors? Sure. They should know what the deal is. But a product was designed and manufactured that is highly desirable and more can be produced to meet demand and no inventory is left on shelves or, more importantly, in warehouses, so stores will continue to order stock.

4) Remember when dewbacks were crazy delayed? How much dust are they gathering now? Relax!

I think the lesson here is we’ve all gotten a bit over zealous with the preordering. Is anyone really missing out with Organized Play cancelled for the foreseeable future?

and I dont owe them an explanation for why im not buying their toy

they are going to kill legion with this crap like theyve killed so many of their other games with bad policies

Agreed. I’m happy and hyped to play xwing all the time: in part because they don’t have nearly the same level of fiasco with xwing for whatever reasons, and in part that I could never buy another ship and still have loads of content at my fingertips. and with the quality of life changes to 2.0 combined with constant point adjustments, I’m not getting power creeped out of the game. My old stuff keeps up with the new. (And yes I still buy new stuff that interests me, which is a lot - my point is I don’t need it to sustain me). I have never been unable to find what I want for xwing, with the possible exception of a single card pack (which I have but I know others can’t now).

Legion is another animal. It has all the problems of 1.0 xwing with the power and complexity creep, while having massive shortage issues because they never make enough for everyone to get what they want. Newer corps units shove out old ones. Units that always struggled don’t usually get sufficient help. All on top of this, because you paint your minis you’re emotionally invested to the ones you can no longer play well because creep.

@ScummyRebel A big part of the reason X-Wing V2 probably doesn't seem to have the same distribution issues is that for the most part they have been re-releasing ships. People don't need to buy another X-Wing when they already have 3 sitting at home from V1. I remember stuff selling out just as fast with just as long of delays before restocks, and plenty of power creep in V1, even if it was just a single upgrade card in the box as opposed to the actual ship. If I recall correctly the letters TLT will still make some X-Wing players flinch ;-).

V2 though, the GCW ships are already out, and keywords have been changed (thanks to the new edition).

Power creep is a very common and unfortunate part of most wargames. GW is perhaps best known for it, and their games have survived quite well. It a common tactic to encourage purchases of new kits/armies used by a lot of companies whose wargames are still surviving. Yes, Legion's distribution is bad, this year in particular it is worse. But even GW has repeatedly missed deliveries of new product to my FLGS this year. Magic the Gathering has suffered from some severe shortages of new product as well, and some of their product is printed in the US. Wargames Atlantic is experiencing some severe slowdown on shipping as well. Asmodee's shipping and distribution is generally bad for consumers that want to have the new hotness right away (so most of us) and has gone to worse this year, while everyone else has gone from fine to bad.

If you are not buying then what’s the issue? That leaves supply for someone who wants it.

but the reason im not buying it because there isnt any supply. so it doesnt leave supply for someone else who wants. because there is NO supply.

the issue is that theres NO SUPPLY. not for me or anyone else.

Yeah, I understand. If you can’t buy it you can’t and that sucks at the moment.

But the product does exist. I had no issue getting 2 BX boxes. I know ARCs are harder to get hands on. But is this going to impact tournament play? What’s the biggest issue here? For casual play my group would certainly allow proxies.

I can see this being frustrating for someone new to the game who is only playing Clones, but anyone with GCW stuff should be able to make so many army combos already there isn’t much to complain about. Even with Clones and CIS, the possibilities haven’t been exhausted.

there is an unending number of things to complain about when it comes to FFG :P
