How will you guys be building your BXs?

I guess you mean the Aim Action. Yes you can Aim in melee.

We call this " the wind up".

Where someone already has tweety-birds circling their heads:

1) Center their face with a hand on each temple, then raise their chin to the perfect height with just your fingertips.

2) Pull dominant shoulder back, rotate clenched fist 2-to-5 times around at the elbow while closing one eye. This primes it with potential energy.

3) Let fist fly and make sure to include a sound effect to illustrate how devastating your attack was*

No, Arm as in Arm the Dioxis mine.

Ah sorry, yes you can also Arm a mine in melee

Finally have mine on the way, 3 boxes.

I am wondering if I want to do more than a bare minimum of shields, I honestly see that upgrade being one I take far less than the swords, but maybe I am not really considering their potential properly. I feel like having multiple special forces is gonna push me out of perfect activation control and make the recover action pretty hard to access. Maybe on a single unit of BX the shields would be pretty great as an objective holder as long as they can get orders?

I mean, if all you want them to do is sit on an objective with shields, then even without an order you can just take the forced Dodge first and then Refresh.

I'm really having a hard time thinking I'll ever need 3 boxes. I'm really trying to justify 2.

Nothing against those that have them, but these new releases (even the Rebel and Imperial ones coming) have both units included. With 2 boxes of Droids, I'll have 4 units which I'll never use in a game. I never got that many of the original commando or scout releases. The Mandolarians and Inferno squad don't seem to need extras and justifying multiple units seems difficult even.

A slight difference is that Clan Wren and Inferno will barely have both units included. You won't be able to build the non-unique heavy weapon option out of the box and still have two full units.
Two boxes of ARCs give you enough sniper models to field two sniper strike teams, but not enough cards. So unless you can find a source for official cards, you won't be able to field three strike teams without three boxes.

Edit: Forgot Clan Wren had a smaller basic unit.

You can build everything with Clan Wren because the base unit is only 3 models. So base Mandalorian Resistance unit + Clan Wren unit leader + Duelist + Ursa + Tristan = 7 models in the box.

Right, sorry forgot Clan Wren was a smaller basic unit. It's Inferno and ARC troopers that don't have enough models for both units in a single box (plus non-unique heavy) if you build the unique heavy upgrades.
I knew it was two of them, just forgot which two.

lol no. Mine are stuck in limbo...somewhere. Probably the Shadowrealm or wherever one sock from a pair disappears to.

Probably with the rest of the "water damaged" kits <Circle one> (on the way back to the factory to get melted down for new kits)/(in a garbage dump with ET the Atari game)/(at the bottom of the ocean).

I had already converted a 2-3 figures into inferno or special forces to use as Gideon and Del Meeko when their cards were released. I also have an extra sabine and boba fett model. After seeing the full release cards though, I'm not sure I'll run more than 2 of the mando or ISF ever except maybe once or twice. They don't seem to be a unit that you would "fill up on" mainly due to points and partially due to their niche or role.

The Arcs and BX i could see running multiples of. But due to points, they are actually tough to fit, especially if you're taking Padme and R2. Converting one 2.man squad of ArC troopers is easy. So I'm good with one box. I'm trying to decide if I want 2 boxes of BX droids. They actually seem better in the large squad and due to cheaper core, can fit more in. I'm also hoping they release more special forces next year (Magma Droids or the wasp dudes) and don't care to max out any slots to the same unit(too boring)

Same with my Arc Bois. They took the money, but I haven't seen hide nor tail of them since. Someday, I'm gonna find the mythical boat they travel on and see just what happens on there!

(Jokes aside, I've just learned to be super patient with FFG. They can be very slow, but they do get it eventually)

I did fit the sniper gun on Droid B, because the running guy seemed dumb and I was afraid he would break off his base.

I think the shields are the only ones that have to fit a certain way.

Ended up having 2 with swords, 2 with swords on their back, 1 shield, 1 gun and poison bomb and the other just with gun running.

I don't think I'll run the shields as much as the big squad with swords and sniper droid.

Played a skirmish game yesterday and had one strike team with sniper and shields who did some harassing (though mostly just recovered their shields as they tanked Rex attempt to kill them and giving him a bit of suppression for several turns xD) and a full squad with saboteur and swords, though because my opponent ran a saber tank they didn't have many targets to go for after Grievous neutered half a squad with one shot and melee'd the other to death the following turn ^^; But they did a 'decent' job of tanking the saber tank when it shot at them I suppose, and claimed an objective in the last turn (sadly didn't get a chance to test out their melee capabilities that game)

Edit:
Random thought, but if you put offensive Push on BX's can they trigger it with their scout move, and then move in their activation to gain 2 Aim tokens for the first turn? could be useful to give you (sorta) super accurate first shots with sniper teams perhaps? (and if you put shields on them, gives you extra incentive to recover it during the game) AND if you don't have an order one turn or so you can still get that precious Aim token with your mandatory move action :)

Probably not worth it, but might test it xD
