i was telling my GM about how my new character holds the rank of midshipman even though he actually is a untrusted collaborator in the rules despite graduateing from alliance naval academy but then he brought up that the alliance has no such facilities. i remember the alliance having an academy but i was wondering what sources canon or legends would show that they do have an academy somewhere.

The first Doctor Aphra series showed Hera commanding a fighter flight academy based out of a Lucrehulk.

In the West End Games material Alliance naval officer candidate training was based on the old age of sail style. Candidates were assigned to ships as midshipmen then spent their time learning about various navy subjects and rotation through duty posts until the ship's captain felt they were ready to be promoted.

AFAIK that's the only source describing Alliance training for navy officers rather then fighter pilots.
