At their yearly supporter convention Heidelberger hosted a Tag-Team tourney. Tag-team means that teams consist of one expirenced/pro player and one newbie. The teams play 2 1vs1 (pro vs pro, newbie vs newbie) in a round, win 3 points, tie 1 point (so max 6 points a round). 4 rounds swiss without final table.
I was set as pro so I had to find someone to introduce the game to. Cards were provided, you could choose your race and got all cards from a complete Singe Set. To keep it easy and strong for us we choosed Orcs with two times this deck: http://deckbox.org/sets/8139
It were long nights around the tourney, so it is not that exact/long.
1. Aggressive-Empire
I came first, hand was good but expensive, so Iron Boyz in K. He played Free Company and discarded my spider riders. Some units went in B on both sides. My Q and his K was burning, with Waaagh I could break his defense in Q.
Pretty close game, the annoying Free Company discarded 3 cards.
2. Complete HE set
Deck was not tuned. He was able to play one support until two zones burned.
3. Empire
Bad hand, bad mulligan. I got 3 units with B only and 2 mob ups. He got Warrior Priest + Hellblaster in his first round and developed B. My my bad draw and I had no unit to play in Q (and CV/WE because decks where without neutrals) to change that. I was not able to kill the priest due to his reflection and not drawing LC. I accidently played Night Goblins in K and misread the "corresponding" so they helped nether.
I tried the best with attacking, and got one zone burned, but he burned two with the cranked up priests..
4. Orcs
I got two Spider Rides + Choppa + Totem + Waagh while enemy got Iron Boyz, Snotling Sabo and 2 goblins. Fastest match I ever played.
My partner had won his 4 match and we finished 21:3 and are now quailifed for German Championship.
General Thoughts:
Even Single Set Orcs without WE/CV seem to be extremly strong because they got Spider Riders and Snotling Waggon.
Scouting is nasty, you should try to play your imporant things fast.
I dont know how well the deck would perform against DE. Perhaps a more heavy version is better against them.
