FFG needs to update their quick-build PDFs

By Matanui3, in X-Wing

I was looking through quick-builds for a game night with two of my friends, and realized that the Separatists don’t have anything past their first wave. It’s such a shame, because despite the other resources like infinitearenas and the little cards that come with the ships, the PDFs are probably the easiest way to scan for the threat levels you want at a glance.

Honestly I think if they sold a faction quick-build deck I would buy one for each faction I'm into. Lots of fun ideas for things you can do with those cards. PDFs make it a little trickier.

Justice for Mauler Mithel !

I would love a quick build deck. However, I would want the deck to be like Infinite Arena's cards. I want the ship and upgrade card text on the card. It makes playing so easy and speeds up setup dramatically. When I play casually we frequently use the Infinite Arenas cards that I have printed and cut out.

The one downside to those is they don't work for escalation. Depending how you play that may not be a big deal though.

Good point. I think if I were to play escalation I might prep a pile of upgrade cards ahead of time that can supplement the pre-built cards.

Is this the format where the quick builds gain certain abilities as the matches progress or is this something else?

Yes, I believe it comes from the recent store kit that seems to have been a VERY limited release. I believe I sent you all the scans a month or two ago.

Yes I’ve got the scans and will add them to infinitearenas.com soon.

Awesome! Each card has a new basic quick build plus the escalation options. Any idea how you'll do the escalation?

Escalation is where you can send reinforcements in as your ships die, using the quick-build cards themselves as a reference rather than individual ships. I believe the total threat on an individual quick-build card is always the same though it's been awhile so I could be wrong. Some give you one reinforcement (like the VCX or Lando's Falcon), some give you more (TIE/lns come to mind)

How do they not work for escalation? Escalation just spawns a new ship with higher threat when your last one dies. The Infinitearenas cards all have their threat clearly listed on them. You just have to print out the ones you want for each threat level.
