Color Coding Vital Assets Objectives

By cleardave, in Star Wars: Legion

Hey everyone, I'm looking for some advice as I get to painting my Vital Assets pack.

Specifically, I'm trying to gauge which models need to be specifically painted/differentiated in a way to distinguish between the blue and red players.

As far as I can tell, the carts for Payload are the only ones that seem to matter, as well as the 6 bombs. Am I missing something here?

The supply crates are neutral, and the hostages (as far as I can tell) don't really "belong" to either player, and you can score them both if you can steal the other one back from your opponent.

So to summarize, am I just painting a "blue" and a "red" Payload cart, as well as 3 blue and 3 red bombs?

Thanks in advance for any tips/advice.

That's what I did, and there doesn't seem to be any need to do more than that. Personally I painted up blue and red barricades for Fortified Positions as well, but that was just for fun.

The carts are the only ones that must be differentiated. The bombs can be picked by an enemy unit so I prefer to leave them as neutral.

As for the carts, I painted them both the same but painted the side of the bases blue and red.

The victory conditions for Payload;

"At the end of the game, each player gains 1 victory token if their bomb cart is at range 2 of the terrain piece marked with an objective token matching their color ..."

Unless I'm missing something, it might be worth grabbing your blue and red paint for those bombs too?

I think "player ownership" or whatever you want to call it doesn't matter in Bombing Run though.

I haven't been able to play since everything went sideways in the world so I'm behind the experience curve with the new objectives.

But you put the bombs on top of the cart, so my point is that marking the cart alone should be enough to differentiate them. And you keep the bombs "neutral" to avoid confusion when you play Bombing Run, as any player could claim a droped bomb.

So the bombs are really just "for show" in that scenario, and aren't used to represent the objective tokens put on the board (like a vaporator)? You just put them on the cart, pushing along to a token sitting in a piece of terrain up the board?
