How do you feel about Redline with some proton torpedos and this mod?

I'm trying to get into punisher and I also haven't seen this mod being used, if not in the punisher, where have you used it?

Mostly nowhere. It's not good.

It'll usually work out better to just get a hull or shield upgrade, save points, and use your action offensively.

If reinforced deflector was going to be good on anybody, it would be redline. The pilot ability to aquire a lock after taking that reinforce means he gets to play both offence and defence at the same time. Unfortunately as bitterfig pointed out, you're generally better off taking a passive defense (shield/hull upgrade) and using an offensive action instead such as Focus to get double mods on the attack and increase the chance of outright killing the target so you don't need to worry about return fire. The optimum use case would be if you flew Redline against a swarm where Reinforce is the more useful action.

At the current cost of 6pts I'd say it's worth a try, but if your list needs 2 more points a swap down to shield upgrade would be the first consideration. Give it a try!

Iirc there was some people at first using it on Vader as well. Not sure how it turned out though.

With Vader's ability I sometimes find myself at the end of an action chain with force left over and just think, "wouldn't it be funny if I had one more action available?" It's more for chuckles than utility.

In very specific matchups AD is just as good/better than an Evade (which Vader does not have access to) because it can decrease the damage of multiple ordnance. Generally speaking -on Vader or other high init/high agi pilots- Afterburners is way better because you could just avoid talking those shots altogether and don't have to give up an action to do it.

theorically for 82 points you could have redline with angled deflectors, fifth brother and protorp.

so you could reinforce and lock having fifth bro for eyeball...

but i don't know if it worth it

Yeah, 82 is a bit more than the typical imperial Ace slot and almost double the cost of basic imperial ordnance jousters.

In the pre S-foils days I ran Braylen with AD along with Ten and Lando. That was mildly entertaining. A swarm of Omega Squadron Aces with Fanatical and AD is fun too.

That makes me wonder how many will fit in with a Xi, coordinate a focus, with fanatical, a.optics and a reinforce, that might be gnarly.

If Poe wants a Reinforce you're probably flying him wrong, same goes for the A-wing aces, Rey lists can't afford to waste 40-ish points on a ship with no offensive output, Chewie would rather save 11 points and just take another Fireball, and nothing else in the faction is worth putting that much effort into defending.

Low-initiative Scum ships can take it with Lando crew to get value out of the reinforce then spend it for rerolls, but that's quite expensive and I can't see anything that really justifies the cost.
