I'll start with this: This show was my dad's favorite growing up. When I started showing a love of history, he showed it to me. I fell in love at episode 1. Is anyone familiar with this gem of a show from the 60's?
Hogan's Heroes
Haha! Yeah, I used to watch it on Nick At Nite. Block party summer was my jam.
It would make for a really fun RPG campaign.
Ah yes. Hogan's Heroes. I haven't watched as much of that show as I have of others, but I like what I've seen. Particularly "Praise the Fuhrer and Pass the Ammunition" I think it was called. "Hold that Tiger" was another good one.
Most of my tastes in entertainment are from the 50s-80s, generally in the 60s-70s.
Are you familiar with McHale's Navy? Now
that
was a work of art.
So the reason I asked is because I am wanting to do a one shot mission inspired by the show. I want some ideas and feedback on careers and specialization as well as stats on the main 5 characters.

Who are the "main five" you are referring to?
I am familiar with it, but I'm really more of a "Kelly's Heroes" kind of guy. Same brand, different flavour.

Hogan, Newkirk, Carter, LeBeau, and Kinchloe

I'd say Outlaw Tech for Kinchloe.
Scoundrel for Hogan, or maybe Agitator.
I'll have to think about it. It's been a while since I watch the show, and most of them would be the sort of build I don't use very often.
I was also thinking outlaw tech and/or slicer for Kinch. Demolition for Carter. Theif for Newkirk. I didn't know what to do with LeBeau.

If you are creating pre-gen characters for a one-shot, you could build them like NPCs, cherry-picking appropriate talents and aiming for a balance between characters.

Yeah, that was more-or-less my thinking. And yeah. LeBeau is... odd.
Still not sure where to go with him.
They will be pre-gen but it is also to try to get them into more AoR type stuff. I want them to experience it in a more lighthearted and funny adventure without committing them to anything.

I was looking at Sleeper Agent for LeBeau. It gives charm as a career skill as well as Cunning Persona, Well Rounded, 2X Convincing Demeanor, Inside Person, Inside Knowledge, and Natural Charmer.

That's good. I think that fits well.
Like I said, that sort of character build isn't really my cup of tea, and I haven't fooled around with Spy/Diplomat/Colonist all that much. But I think that will work.
Colonist: Entertainer would also be a good fit for Corporal LeBeau -- causing distractions (with or without strudel) is a lot of his job. Carter might benefit from some of the Engineer: Sapper abilities (excavating all those tunnels). Hogan is the one I find a little more difficult. He is a Colonel in the Army Air Corps, a good or better pilot, a master of disguise, and a smooth talker. Scoundrel: Charmer might be a good starting point, though some of the Commander trees could be very useful. Kinchloe as an Outlaw Tech sounds very solid, and there are some of the other Technician trees could be useful later. Newkirk as thief works well, and expanding into gambler, scoundrel, and charmer are all great choices.

I didn't pictured Jon Snow like this.? 😂
Ok. So I would like all human if possible so starting would 2/2/2/2/2/2. What should they be after character creation. Since I am wanting to run a knight level one shot I am open to a rank in dedication.
So what I was thinking was Hogan needs a high presence and cunning , Newkirk needs high cunning, Carter high Intelligence, LeBeau needs high cunning and agility, and Kinchloe needs high Intelligence. For this game I'm adding a new skill called Tactics (Cun).
LeBeau should probably also have Presence. Maybe 232323. Coordination, Charm, Stealth, Deception, Skulduggery (note that he was the one who did magic shows).
Maybe 232323 for Hogan.
Kinchloe I'd say 324222. Mechanics, Computers.
The issue with statting them as characters for an RPG is that there is a lot of overlap.
Newkirk was the magician. Also the safecracker. So he will need the Skulduggery. Hogan I was thinking 222334 with a dedication going into presence.

Oops, you're right. I misremembered.
I have the first two seasons on DVD. As for LeBeau, I'd think the quartermaster role would be right up his alley.
From what I remember of the show, Lebeau is the resourceful guy, a smart cookie, of the group. He should have mostly cunning and presence as his main attributes, ama.
