Where and what have people had good success with for buying laser line pens/emitters for games of Armada? I have seen some very cheaply priced ones with dubious quality reviews, but I thought I'd ask here for any tried and tested opinions.

Edited by Packerman29I would recommend the Army Painter Target Lock Laser Line. I splurged on the Broken Egg Straight Line Pro Laser, but unfortunately (at least for me), even though when it works it emits a far stronger beam, it was far less reliable than the much cheaper Army Painter one. Just my experience.
Harbor Freight. It's only $6.
I'd second Calkins above regarding the Broken Egg laser. It's one of the largest regrets I have of any Armada accessory.
I'm having a hard time finding the Armypainter line pointer anywhere in my area, only the normal dot pointer. I was thinking of stopping at the Harbor Freight by work for the 6 dollar one, but I have heard mixed reviews about it even being worth 6 bucks.
Edited by AegisGrimmMy Harbor Freight laser line works perfectly. However, the power button can be engaged very easily, which can cause unexpected battery drain (and replacement batteries cost as much as the product). I keep my angled in a little plastic box and restrained by foam to prevent that.
Yeah, that's the one I am going to experiment with, as there is a HF store two blocks from my workplace. I have seen negative reviews saying it was too cheaply made, but I figured I would get more in-action info here on the forums.
I am using it. I am sure there are better out there but for $6 it's great.
Have one of the Armypainter ones and have been happy with it.
Army Painter's "Target Lock" Laser line pointer is probably the best for the price and the one I've seen most often, unfortunately it looks like AP doesn't produce it any more so stocks are only going to get more limited.
I concure that Harbor Freight has a good cheap laser pointer. Home Depot also carries a line emitter. I have both, I use my Harbor Freight one more.
Edited by Dameon13Update: I ended up getting the one from Harbor Freight as I also discovered the AP one is nearly impossible for any of my Local Game Stores to order. It works great, and I am surprised by how far it shines, although because of the prism being shaped how it is, you get this wicked curve when shone against the far wall of a room. But at Armada distances, it works wonderfully for the price, which was actually a buck cheaper at my local HF than I saw advertised. It literally cost me more for a 16-foot tape measure I bought to replace one that had the end snap off.
Edited by AegisGrimmTape measures can get pricey. The hf laser may not be the cleanest, but for plastic spaceships I think it works good. No regrets buying it.
My parents bought a laser pointer to exercise the dog. They went to get replacement batteries and the guy in the store pointed out it was cheaper to just buy a new laser.
Sometimes it is cheaper, lol.
