Empire [HS]

By Synel, in X-Wing Squad Lists

With the addition of some interceptor and TIE/v1 pilots into hyperspace, how does this affect Empire? Here’s one concept list I’m trying to theory out. Force and three defense dice are strong, plus an agile blocker. But mainly, I’m interested in any perspectives out there. Do you think the changes will create entirely new angles of strength for the faction? Or are we going to see just slight to no alterations of what is strong/efficient for Empire in hyperspace?

(67) Darth Vader [TIE Advanced x1]
(2) Fire-Control System
Points: 69

(43) Seventh Sister [TIE Advanced v1]
Points: 43

(42) Fifth Brother [TIE Advanced v1]
(3) Ion Missiles
(2) Passive Sensors
Points: 47

(31) Alpha Squadron Pilot [TIE/in Interceptor]
Points: 31

Total points: 190

I think I'm all in on the Barons as Imps new hotness.

Although I only have 2.... I suddenly want another 2....

In any case, Bro, Sis and Vader should be good. The addition of the Alpha may help make up for lost tools.

But if you make those 2 v1s Barons, add missiles, they don't need any more, that 4th slot becomes much bigger.

I'm interested in 2 Barons and 3 Storm Squadron Pilots atm. I don't know if it will be good, but I feel like I can make it work against all sorts of things.

When i get to fly for real again.

@Cuz05 , you’re right. If they are Barons with passive and concussion missiles, then Duchess with 5th bro fits with a 3 pt bid.

I’ve been trying the barons as just cheap filler in hyperspace. And they are solid. Real solid. Linked actions, great dial and shields. Been trying vader duchess 3 barons for hyperspace

Barons with passive seem really bad imo, 4hp with no token seems to be asking to die.

It depends what you run them with, and of course, where you put them on the table and what actions you take when there. Barons come with many options , Passives add an extra one..... rather than becoming the only one.

Also, something seemingly asking to die can occasionally be a trick question ;)

Fair, but I've watched too many RZ-1's die because I tried getting cute with token choice.

Now if Proton Rockets were in HS I'd be all over this little jerk.
