Starting with Yori's thoughts makes it absolutely clear where he stands on this, and that the comment about the majority of Kuni daimyo eventually being tainted was true.

Hmm, can't say I'm particularly pleased with this turn of events. But at least Tadaka has an Asako and a nezumi around to keep his head on straight. Depending on how this plays out I might have some good things to say about the Phoenix.

Well the Kuni have a fairly good track record of not letting the Damned lose their souls. Granted a Phoenix is wielding the blade this time, so... we'll see.

This is something that has been bothering me. I love reading them but it makes it hard for people who may not be as plugged in to find the fictions when they come out.

Gotta say, the history of Tainted Kuni daimyo in this take on the setting does a lot to make Yori- and Tadaka- seem to be making much more comprehensible choices.
