As an older folk, I could appreciate larger text on the cards for readability.
Upgrade Box from GenCon Reveal

It definitely is, although for my own sake I'll buy one just to have the errata'd versions of old cards. First instance of an upgrade can be the new, extra instances of the old.
To get a feel for the new card size just take a normal upgrade number (so Trc90 + Jain's light = 2 cards) and then get out squad cards. See how it actually works. Yeah new size but new rules and some sweet new cards coming with Clone Wars!

Only one? That actually wouldn't be too bad, as someone who endured the X-Wing 2.0 Conversion. When X-Wing converted to 2.0, a lot of people had to buy multiple conversion kits for each faction they owned, depending on how large their collection was and the sort of lists they wanted to be able to build. Do we know how many of each upgrade card will appear in the Upgrade Pack for Armada? We might see people buying multiple upgrade packs to "update" their collections (e.g. what if there are only 2-3 copies of TRC or External Racks in the pack?)
I'm also curious... how many starter packs do people think will be required to fly a 400pt Separatist or Republic fleet? Did they say how long it would be until additional individual ship expansion packs would be out for Republic/Separatists?
They did say that existing cards are still legal to use. So as long as you already have what you need you wouldn't have to buy multiple card packs.
They also said they expect that people will play 200 point Task Force size games with the starter.

Having played Xwing with the new cards, size change not fun. Storage is much worse. (2x obviously), but its actually even worse: cuz now I split my used cards vs extra unused cards and its not all in one place anymore. Also, no more binder. Too much pain. Wayyyy tooo big. Which makes things worse, as its now a box.
The cards take up more space, they don't mesh easily. Left and right aligned upgrades in Xwing take up further space.
It would have been nice to get larger text font too.

Not only errata'd, but in some cases, with new points and new rules and/or symbols as well (Thrawn being a good example)! Having watched today's stream, it almost seems like the upgrade card pack is a must-have. 😡
When they talked about the card pack on stream I'm surprised no one noticed the XI7 nerf they snuck in...
Advanced projectors are very viable again. 😁 👍

And Foresight, who was already fun with Mon Mothma.
As my games are almost exclusively against my wife or my father, both of which I have to teach the game to, I have no problem with spending a measly 25 bucks to have eratta'd cards. I HATE having to look up and mentally keep track of what the cards in front of me "really" mean, especially when there's a sizeable number of them in the game. Doubly so when I need to ask a mostly non-gamer to do the same.
The size change is a pain, but not a deal-breaker, although I will lament the loss of tarot-sized ship cards.
