Yeah..... At least they didn't show us the stats I'm happy about that.

Many of the GCW stuff was announced 4-5 months in advance of the release, so 6 months isn't significantly different from the old days.

True but they have begun to shorten that gap, which when a game has monthly releases just makes sense for everyone. So seeing a 6 month gap here is just semi frustrating. I'd rather not know for another 3-4 months tbh. But like I said I do love the policy change that they aren't showing stats until a month or so left until release.

The most concerning thing here is it is now possible that clan wren and inferno squad are it for gcw for the next 6+ months.

That isn't great.

Though it is entirely possible we get announcement articles of some other things in the next couple weeks. They have done it multiple times in the past (between Armada and legion). And it never ceases to baffle me. You just had a big presentation that major sites will write articles about and you announce something a week to a month later..... 🤔

The wiki is still claiming a 5 month lead time for the last few Corps units for GCW, so I don't know that it's ever been very short, even without including delays. For some reason I thought the announcements from major events were still fairly fair in advance.

I agree about not seeing the stats though, especially if there are new keywords. Without the update to the RRG, the keywords on a card aren't really helpful.

Well, FFG did claim they would release something tied to Mandalorian by the end of the year. So either that got bumped to next year or the release(s) is/are related to Season 2 so they can't announce it early.


A major presentation that crashed repeatedly, and ended abruptly and early? They also have a Legion specific announcement coming up, but that could just be a closer look at these units.

While the specialists look great it was def a bit underwhelming. I was hoping for a new box type like a heavy weapon set or specialists for the 2nd core units(fleets, etc). That said was really impressed with the maul and anakin models themselves. though it didn't feel like news since they were leaked a month ago.

Makes matter worse is that poor Legion was right after X-wing. That game got about 10 ships all in three months. It is pretty clear what games Covid did not push back till next year. Would throw shade at Armada as well, but that fanbase deserved their products not getting pushed back.

My money is on an objective with the Baby Yoda at this point. Seems like the best way to tide over fans. Also except they will announce something for December since their goal seems to be a product a month for Legion.......................... Or Rex/Ahsoka for Rebels since they will appear in season 2 of the mando. FFG way of getting out of that promise lol.

Maybe we will get fleet and snowtrooper unit upgrade expansions this saturday? I had never thought about it, but having upgrade expansions would be nice to see some more diversity and viability in those corps. But also, having to pay for these unit expansions when they could just merge them into the same box seems a little silly. Either way, like the idea!

The lead times pre-covid were already pretty bad.

We come on these forums to talk about things that are positive and negative about this hobby we find enjoyment in, that lets us take a break from reality.

There's no implication that we dislike FFG, in fact we want them to succeed, that's why we're critical.

@UnitOmega thanks, the stream crashed a few times and I think the tail end of the VOD wasn't aired on Twitch (midway through Arkham on).

I was pretty disappointed with the announcements, we already knew about Maul/Anakin from spoilers, and the specialists or whatever they are called is a no brainer. I kind of figured this would be Armada's year though and they deserve it, been through a lot that game has. We had our time in the sun last year.

Also on the flip side, its nice for them to have less product announced so they can hopefully focus on fixing the supply chain issues COVID has brought on, IE. can't find a set of Phase 2's to save your life.

I will give them the benefit of the doubt with COVID, their supply chain was horrendous before hand, but I imagine it didn't help things.

Looking forward to being able to find product available, and seeing some more releases announced once that is all fixed.

I will admit though that Descent big box has me intrigued.. I've been able to hold off on the LOTR game, and I was holding out for a Co-Op Star Wars LCG, but if that Descent is fully co-op I might be in there..

Anyone else notice that maul has 2 one pips and no three pip command card

Really hopeful for the cheap clone commander and maybe a command card that can help out the saber tank as it's one of my favorite units to run.

I am assuming the two one pips is an error. There is generally a few of those in each FFG article.

I agree, the model, and the inclusion of the probe droids, points toward an episode one style Maul, where let’s face it he doesn’t do any ordering of anyone except himself, I would assume all three order just himself, maybe with the probe droids, and are going to give him situational buffs.

I was also wondering what the orange cards where, he did mention that anakin changes throughout the game to become more powerful but at a cost of vulnerability so you could be onto something there

- 28th August, ARCs and BXs
- 11th September, Clan Wren, Inferno Squad, AT-RT i STAP Droids (according to UK distributor, same that spoiled Anakin/Maul)
- November Anakin and Maul
- January CIS/GAR Specialists

I would be happy to see some more stuff this year.
