Dodge is stronger than that. It will spike Effective durability wayyy up when facing things like bombers with only 2 dice. Even with 3.

its still good even against higher dice pools, but obnoxiously good against small.

A single JSF with adept and counter 2 can engage multiple bomberS at once and expect to win. If not win, severely damage all of them. The comparison to Shara is a good one though

I feel the likely Scatter Ace variants of this ship will be horrible. It seems to do it all bar bombing, with its anti ship being the only drawback.

6pts more than an A-Wing is wisely priced considering it'll last 10x longer

They're really not that much more durable. They'll last *slightly* longer than A-wings.

The ships look beautiful, somehow better looking than the ships we have now.

Our current ships are also gorgeous. But these... these are also beautiful

They're the liberty of squads. Go beat up on basic scrubs, try not to get ganked by Cienna/Mauler/imperial stuff

I'm guessing going forward there won't be dial sets in expansions. So you'll get a starting pool of dials to use in your Faction starter(s), and then maybe buy one dial pack if you can't get some spares from a veteran player, and then when you have a 'playset', your good. Any ships you buy just use dials from your pool. A large majority of players don't play with every ship they open on the table at once anyway.

It would save FFG A TON of money and the players a ton of space too. I consider it a improvement.

This is my thinking as well. After these core sets they won't be including speed dials or order dials in the ship expansion packs going forward.

The problem with these explanations is that it does not make sense to sell the dial pack already when absolutely nobody has demand for it. Veteran players have enough and new ones because they are included in the starter as well. Nobody needs those dials when they hit retail.

it would make sense, if they are offered when new expansions that lack dials are offered as well. But that is not the case.

Supply chain issue maybe? They're already made, sitting around, so here they are? And even if it's not for the next wave of blisters, maybe the reprint of older content won't have the dials too? Which a bunch of reprints are probably coming anyway. Or, scary and way less imaginable version, dials not in faction pack?

Right now most of the customers do not need it. In the future some customers will need it. I do not need any more speed dials or command dials in any product I purchase. I have more than enough to field large fleets for two players. It is unlikely I am in the minority on this.

But if the intent is to take these dials out of the expansion packs some players will need to buy dials separately until they increase their personal inventory.

That might be an explanation. But I still think it is a red herring 😉

I'm pretty sure you hit on the reason right there. Why package a bunch of components that nobody wants or needs with every expansion? They can produce a small amount of dial packs for players who actually need more of them for some reason, much like they do with maneuver tools and dice, and save a bunch of money by no longer providing them to players who don't.

I agree that seems strange to release the Dials Pack at the same time as the Clone Wars Fleet Starters, because the Starters include Dials. However, based on the Lion Rampant product info from a month ago, 4 more Clone Wars ships will supposedly be released sometime in January 2021, and those (presumably) won't include command dials. Those ships coming so soon after the Clone Wars Armada launch in December, FFG probably wants to ensure that the Dial Packs arrive in time so that new players can buy them in advance and be ready for those ship expansions that don't include dials.

If FFG had decided to release those Dial Packs at the time as those "Wave 2" ship expansions, what if the Dial Packs were delayed? And those 4 ship expansions were released on schedule? Then new players wouldn't have command dials for those new ships and sales of those new Clone Wars ships would suffer. That's why releasing the Dial Packs with the Starters does make sense to me -- even though I have no reason to buy them.

Against large dice pools they will last slightly longer, against small dice pools they will last a lot longer. Against flak they die same as swings.

The Lion Rampant info was accurate: The Recusant, Providence, Venator, and Pelta.

FFG said that these 4 will be released Q1 2021. Hopefully Lion Rampant was also right about these ship expansions being released in January .

It's okay. I drink and I know things. Or at least guess really well. 😜

Really though, I don't seem to recall them ever making a game announcement before as a fake out. I'm trying to think of they ever did for even something like April fool's? I know they try and keep it close to the chest. But I feel like anything they've officially said is out, it's just that.
