Starbird slash will be fun on all A wings, nothing to say it can't be used on the RZ1.

I also saw an image of the gunship doing a guri style barrel roll... Anyone got info on this? Didn't want to buy droids but **** this reveals hitting the wallet hard

I just watched @Crabbok s youtube vid on these release's and it looks like a strafe move, as in a Viper BR, but it's a dialed in move, a slide if you will. Like an S Loop, but instead of facing backwards, you are facing the side.

Watch the vid, makes a lot more sense than the garbage I just attempted.

Maneuver modified tie ln fighter + swz-ion-limiter.png

Might no be much, but looks interesting.

Disturbing on /Fo, /Vn and /Sf though.

Heck. Any TIE with Talent+Tech. Looking over Imp again and really not liking what I'm seeing there either. It is probably going to be expensive as heck (fu Whisper and Echo) so rip being worth it on a MGTIE. :(

On a Reaper, though... ailerons + hard turn + barrel roll, on a ship that can't normally roll. What a weird turn.

Or hard stop and roll...

Is this side slip the move they are putting in the new video game? I move straight but at the end the ship is turned ninety degrees from initial facing?

It's X-Wing: Tokyo Drift

They also said that it probably won't ever end up on a dial.

Perfect for putting out console fires?

Side slip is more of a "circle strafe" maneuver, where you move sideways and rotate towards the inside of the turn. You do the maneuver using the side markings on the ship instead of the font guides.

It might actually make the Reaper usable, since it has such a hard time turning.

Although, with this new "TIE" designation, I wouldn't mind seeing something like the "TIE mkII" from first edition for medium bases only. So far that's only the Punisher and the Reaper, IIRC.

Also the TIE/rb now, so there's that. Curious why they went with "Heavy" instead of "Brute," since I think both are legitimate names...

I know Vermeil loves this idea. Medium-base barrel roll at I4, and with health to spare and less risk of ionization? Yes please. U-Wings can only dream of this!

Oh, also Saber Squad Interceptors, and... Soontir...

The StarWars.com databank says it's the TIE/rb Heavy, nicknamed the TIE Brute. There's also the even more formal name from the TIE Fighter Owner's Workshop Manual, "TIE reinforcement battery heavy starfighter."

Ion limiter overdrive and proud tradition is going to be a thing. I'm not sure how good it will be but it will be fun!

How do you figure? Both of those are talents and I'm not aware of a double-talent FO ship yet.

Nevermind I thought it was a title

I'm hoping there's some kind of scaling on this. VN and an Academy Pilot are going to get very different returns. FO look winners.

Pondering it in Empire, I'm not feeling a wide variety of options. Reaper is sure interesting, need to try that one. Phantoms and Defenders, want to avoid red moves a lot.

Some utility on named TIE Fighters, probably, depending on cost.

Pilots that could make it sing a little, mostly want a different talent. Any ace who could have fun with it is likely going to baulk at the Ion risk too.

Phantoms

Map Echo decloak + K Turn into a barrel roll (calculates out as 91 possible positions in a huge bloom reminiscent of an agave). Whisper's, and the other Phantoms', is a bit less nuts, but still 49 positions for her(their) turn around (field of reeds). The Talent also bypasses Asteroid's and Gas Cloud's skip perform action step penalty due to the timing (also ignores the stress from Debris, though it leaves the fighter double stressed). 1 in 8 chance to get an Ion token.

Its going to make Ved even more fun to fly.

FFG should've made Han Solo one TIE Brute pilot, as during his time at the Academy he flew one.

Now this is pod racing.

I can't really speak for Whisper, I started Phantoms with Echo and never looked back. I do stress her on occasion, but only when I can see the 2 bank follow up is going to be good. Generally, I think she's awesome enough not to need the roll and that talent slot is so nice with Outmanouevre in it :)

Ezra even might be OK. Pull the red, do the roll, get the stress, double-strength force.

Bah, of course. :(

Anyone else think Rampage is the perfect fit for Intimidation?

His ability doesn't say "fully" execute. So you can throw yourself into the fray (maybe with an Autoblaster) and single/double strain someone and then reduce their defence AGAIN if you bump them/they bump you.

Great set up for the rest of your squad.

What are some lists you hope are hyperspace legal to try by time all the new releases hit the shelves in November?

Republic

ETA-2 Anakin (R2D2) + ETA-2 Obi-Wan & LAAT (Yoda) + WIlhuff Tarkin

Some combination of the 3/4 would be very thematic

Empire

Darth Vader + Rampage + (another) Brute

CIS

Jango + (2) Tri-Fighters

Heaven Forbid the republic ever get a small base with a natural 3 die primary! But at least they are both odd ball free! Hehe

Im not sure if there is anything on this list that im NOT anxious to get! This might be a problem for me!

I dunno. Being able to do a K-Turn onto an asteroid and then barrel roll off seems like an interesting option for a MGTIE. How expensive would FFG make it, with the downsides of rolling for strain/ion?

That's still up in the air iirc. Last I remembered EU interpretation it fails the check to barrel roll off, US interpretation is can... That part of my post wasn't about being or not being an interesting option for the MGT though, but about it very likely getting the Juke treatment thanks to how other Ties can abuse it and getting priced cripplingly high as a result...
