Defaulting to him having synced console stapled?

If you're taking an I5 that intends to take locks, not spending 1 point to let those locks be shared seems like a waste of points.

I could be wrong, I only have 2 torrents and haven't done much with missiles on them, but it seems like a no-brainer to me. Also potentially worth considering: Synced Torps on an ARC?

So no Grievous or Maul/Dooku? Thanks for the advice

Grievous can be fun, no doubt. And he does have Ace-like attributes - linked repositioning actions, fancy pilot and title abilities for conditional free mods. But he is *only* i4, and his blues to clear the stress from those linked actions are *extremely* limited. He does best when you have something scarier to draw attention away from him, and so maybe Jango will be good for him. But he is no Ace. And the Scimitar is a large base ship with only one Agility. Lots of Force, sure, for Maul and Dooku, and some potent abilities. And even a pretty decent dial. But costly, and extremely susceptible to focus fire. The Scimitar, even more than Grievous, struggles to earn back its points, in my admittedly limited experience.

Thanks I’ll definitely get the Jango Slave and 2 Tri-Fighters and see what else is needed from there. Thank you for the recommendations.

Maul/Dooku are decent. Big punchy ships which can probably throw a lot of damage. Maul with Torps would probably be a lot like Dengar with Torps as a partner to Boba, so probably pretty nice to match with Jango. That sort of Jumpmaster/YV-666 high-damage large base bruiser might not be to everyone's taste. They've fallen out of favor some after some early nerfs, but I think they probably still have a lot to offer in the right list.

Grievous is wicked fun. 50 points for him with Soulless One is one heck of a pocket ace. He can punch up from the flank, and if folks turn on him, he can run well, but Init 4, and easily skippable on a budget.

Unless you have a specific named ARC in mind wouldn't a BTL-B be a better choice? Dorsal (for a rear arc), R4, Plas, Synced BTL-Bs cost the same as a bare ARC of the same init. They're just a hair slower but the dial is better thanks to R4 and they are a bit tougher.

Of course. I guess I just forgot it existed or that it could take SC since they've mostly been trash so far. Maybe not so much anymore.

Grabbing a Servants of Strife would likely be worth it for Grievous and some potential filler, especially at about 30ish bucks. A Scimitar might be more worth it though, with all of the upgrades specifically crew that the Firespray could use. Maul is psuedo-Acey in any case, and could be used in such a list.

All true. But if someone prefers an Ace style of play....

I admit that I haven't been trying for very long or very hard, but the Scimitar is a struggle for me. Grievous, on the other hand. I love that mad bastard. I can't wait to try him with one (can my wallet justify two?) of those Trifighters. That just tickles me.

Hey @Darth Meanie, Tie Specific upgrades sounds right up your alley. :D

Sadly, I got excited for a huge ship release when I saw you tagged me. 😥

Still, all of this is right up my alley.

The crazy thing is, I've become a Resistance and Republic 2.0 player. So lots of cool stuff.

But the Brute will likely get me to field Imps for old times' sake.

My thought was Grievous + title and Outmaneuver seemed okay plus as you mention all the upgrades (Dooku/Maul/Grievous Crew etc)

Looking at the Tri-Fighters they look real fun and having the option to run 2 (I5) with Jango seems really fun if speculation proves to be true. Thank you to both of you for the recommendations.

Talent - Marg Sable Closure (https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Marg_Sabl) - interesting thing about this one is it seems to have been in the Eta-2 list as well. Is it possible the jedi won't get force powers on that platform? Maybe the concentration they have to use to fly the Eta-2 is too much? I'm not sure. Feels weird. - The text - After you fully execute a maneuver, if you moved through an obstacle, structure, or huge ship, or if you deployed, you may choose 1 enemy ship in your forward arc at range 1-2. That ship gains 1 strain token. (Small or Medium ship only). Sounds like a lot of fun.

I realised an important thing to note here: this card says "moved through", not "moved through or overlapped".

According to the Rules Reference:

"Move Through" means the movement template overlapped the obstacle. The end position of the ship, whether touching the obstacle or not, does not matter here.

"Overlap" means the ship ends its move with some or all of its base on top of the obstacle.

So if you overlap an obstacle without moving through it, you can't use Marg Sabl Closure.

Could be good with MG Ties?

Flying over rocks with impunity, and getting the ability to debuff an enemy, yes please!

I don't even play rebels that often and I know that the As need more pilots. really FFG enough A2s. Give us some good ol A1s.

The Bs need more... roles.

The phoenix pack will likely bring us A and B goodies

For those wanting new Rebel As, we still have the Phoenix squadron pack rumour to see appear in real life. THAT will be chock full of Rebel As, including Hera and Sabine.

It’s not the amount of Rebel A’s that’s the issue. It’s the quality of them that’s available.

Starbird slash will be fun on all A wings, nothing to say it can't be used on the RZ1.

I also saw an image of the gunship doing a guri style barrel roll... Anyone got info on this? Didn't want to buy droids but **** this reveals hitting the wallet hard

Yes, the configuration on the gunship has two sides, one of which is “when you reveal a bank or turn, you must perform the maneuver as a slide step”, which is a new maneuver type apparently. It manifests as a forward facing Viper roll with that template, but only middle to middle (no front or back like a true barrel roll). So the gunship with that side of the config up can only do straights and odd curvey moves like that.

Sideslip maneuver. The ship flips a config card, and on the next turn, turns and banks cause apparently same template barrel-roll like move but only forward and only midpoint. Or it can fly forward and flip its config back.

That HMP looks like a really interesting ship to fly. Giant arc, sideslips to keep things in them, time-consuming defensive statline. I wonder how much they'll cost...

@ClassicalMoser and @CaptainJaguarShark

It is a "may perform" so the Barrel roll you do when using this ability is white. Props to you CaptainJaguarShark. I really hope your eyes don't hate you too much after gleaning that. :D

The config flips back after performing the sideslip as well.

Hmmm.

Maneuver modified tie ln fighter + swz-ion-limiter.png

Might no be much, but looks interesting.

Disturbing on /Fo, /Vn and /Sf though.

Heck. Any TIE with Talent+Tech. Looking over Imp again and really not liking what I'm seeing there either. It is probably going to be expensive as heck (fu Whisper and Echo) so rip being worth it on a MGTIE. :(

I totally forgot about mining TIEs being able to take TIE upgrades
