personally after reading all of this i am more interested in the Republic's lineup specifically the ETA 2 Obi-Wan and Anakin as it looks like they can pair with previous and maybe even future incarnations of themselves though do not expect to see them outside of both being together
InFlight Report News! New Ships!

Guess beef like the Brute in Empire might be the same. Though, we do not have points yet. But unless undercosted there are better beef squads in other factions.
I'd mostly guess something like the TIE/sf. If the same 32 as a Zeta, a Brute would be 38 with an Ion Cannon, and there's some new sort of 3-dice cannon we haven't seen yet here and in the HMP. But Medium Base with no shields is a downside... if Marksmanship takes off since it's the only cheap talent in Hyperspace, these things will get shredded by crits.

Sure, but it'll still **** over your green dice. Either you focus/evade to protect yourself from Jango and the other ships in the enemy list, or you Lock Jango and let him and everyone else mangle your unmodded green dice.
I'm probably overreacting. There's clearly options for dealing with Jango. Just feels like none of those options will be fun.

I mean, this is obviously true. But what does anxiety care about truth?
And a large part of it is that I've got no clue when I'll be playing the game again. At least where I live, I don't feel its safe, and probably won't be safe for a long while. If it was just me, whatever, but I don't live alone. I can't imagine actually playing in September.

It's interesting, but in keeping with my general nervousness, I'm a bit worried.
One advantage Generics have against aces is that they can pick clean maneuvers easily. You can mess up your guesses at position, but it's in your own hands whether or not you bump or get blocked.
I guess Phantoms already do something similar (do Actis just boost, or boost or roll?), and I guess it's better than double repo at initiative. I'm just in a funk, I guess, but it seems like System Phase repos could open up a whole other set of frustrations.
I mean, it's possible Jango will just be this:

personally i see increasingly little need for ships or even factions other than the tri-fighter

So you're anxious about a possibility that won't even affect you for months?
I probably don't help, but maybe rephrasing it like that helps you gain a different perspective.
Random thought but will Jango being the first I6 medium base mean anything?
Probably not but it's a fun little fact.

I, for one, welcome our new three-winged robot overlords.
But, yah, I am super excited for the High-I droids with Networked, some way to modify Networked, and all the other weird shenanigans they will hopefully have.
So interesting point GSP raised in their coverage.
Why are there 3 turret tokens in the Resistance pack?
Are we likely to see a turret cannon for Resistance T-70's?
Gorgeous models. Looks like I’m out ~$150 this fall, even if I won’t be able to play until spring.
Super-excited about that tri-fighter and Yoda.

high probability it's for the same reason there are two snap shots in the tie brute
All I know is that I won't be running Tarkin's V-Wing on principle. Viva el Jedi! Viva el Clones! Viva el Odd Ball!

Having multiple upgrade cards in ship packs makes sense when you promised not having to cross faction buy to get them.
Having 3 turret dials in a pack that only has one ship that can use it does not.
They need to drop the "can't have 2 things with the same name" rule so you can run a squad of all of the Anakins (Y-Wing, Aethersprite, Actis, N1). Just say it's possible because some hall of mirrors weird force whatever time travel plot hole.
And more importantly, you could fly all of the Odd Balls in one squad.
;)

I thought they said a while back that they weren't going to do the ResFalcon/B1 pack again? Around when they were taking about saws renegades and stuff like that?
That's why so many were hoping it would be in this pack I thought

With a ship docked, it uses the ship's initiative and a modified version of its dial. Where the real issues come in is that usually a docked ship can't attack, and it would suck for anything other than points fortressing if you had to spend a turn with no mods bumping it in order to dock, just to get an ablative shield that prevents you from attacking...
Yup. That's pretty much exactly what I wanted it to be. That's sweet.

I mean, it also amps up the "why bother?"
Like, if I'm not going to get to in-person X-Wing this year, maybe it's just time to do something different with my life. Perhaps somewhat similar to 2e coming out after a long summer of no events, and some older players just... moving on.
Doomscrolling this website when I ought to be doing other stuff isn't helping general well-being, either. But neither does spiraling through lens reviews... I just wind up with GAS--gear acquisition syndrome.
But like... I could buy into the Jango Fett waves, or I could buy camera gear. With 2 Tri-Fighters (if only for the Discord Missiles... I only have 1 copy since I bought so many SoS), Jango, HoH, Xi, LAAT, and only a single Actis, that's still nearly $200 USD MSRP, without any HMP or V-Wings or TIE Brutes.
Maybe I'd rather learn how to develop my own film, and snag a used TLR to get into 120 format. I dunno. I've got time, but being cooped up makes me restless.

Why not both?
I don't understand faction loyalty, and I also don't understand why xwing has to be played with 100% devotion. And I say that with a blog and too many posts here, so it's not like I'm not invested at all. If you're in it for the long run and to have fun, then why bother with half a year of other people being affected?
You don't have to quit. A break is often a good idea

I know it sounds like heresy on this site, but sometimes that’s the right answer.
I’ve had over 6 months off since I was on a lengthy break before quarantine hit. It’s rarely permanent but sometimes you just have to realize there’s more to life.
It will still be waiting for you when you come back.
Also... if @svelok thinks everything here is okay I definitely don’t think we should jump straight to NPE talks yet.

As someone who wasn't happy with Hyperspace for awhile, I took a break at the suggestion of some forum members I can tell you it helped me a lot. I came back after 2-3 months more excited it was very helpful. (I do have pilot loyalty though so I do understand a bit i.e Anakin Skywalker but he's Empire and Republic and now that Jango is coming I'm CIS too)
1 minute ago, Cgriffith said:I came back after 2-3 months
To give some perspective, also @theBitterFig: 2-3 months of break can be "actively playing" here where I am. It's entirely normal to play not more for at least one such period per year. Seems like I just have a very different perspective on time frames as result.
No doubt all good options.
I'm pretty sure Anakin and Obi-Wan reference each other in the bold text, not other Eta-2s, and that Anakin removes red tokens while Obi-Wan gives focus tokens. It doesn't appear to be limited to these versions of the two pilots either (meaning Eta-2 Obi-Wan could give a focus to little Ani in a Naboo fighter).
