InFlight Report News! New Ships!

It's not that there's not counterplay, but that the counter-play is un-fun. Part of what sucks about playing against Admiral Sloane is being unable to do the cool stuff your ship can do. Jango looks almost the same way. Stuck on white moves to counter Jango means you're stuck on single-actions since you can't clear with blues. Whether or not it's strong, it looks like it'll just be an absolute miserable time playing against it.

And if you're flying something like an IG-2000 Aggressor, with nearly all blue moves, you're just hosed from game start and there's probably nothing you can do. That's also unfun, to have a matchup that's really bad because your ship has a dial which is ostensibly good.

It's depressing, instead of broken. But maybe it's broken, too.

You're not wrong. I hadn't thought about the comparison to Sloane. I *HATE* that card. I'm not big on Firesprays, myself. This one will be difficult to pass up, if for no other reason than that CIS is a little light on choices. And I suspect I would be more likely to play Zam - I love the idea of a condition that does something with his/her shapeshifting ability.

Eta Actis ship ability seems to be spend a force in the Systems Phase to do a boost or barrel roll. (So a bit like the Aethersprite ability, but even better?)

Maybe. It does sort of allow Low inits to react to it.

Jango's Pilot ability: While you defend or perform a primary attack, if the difficulty of your revealed maneuver is higher(?) than that of the enemy ship's, you may change one of the enemy ship's (eyeball) results to a blank.

The card reads " less than ".

Panic averted.

As a scum player, the only thing I have to look forward to are upgrade cards from other factions? I'm not exactly excited by the prospect or waiting for another upgrade card pack .

"Fugitives and Collaborators" Squadron Pack just became a near perfect lock for being S&V.

Okay, so if they are introducing the hyperdrive ring for the Republic, does that mean every ship in the game with a hyperdrive will someday have access to the mechanic?

It looks like one side of the card is a "Setup" ability and then it has an upgrade logo we have not seen before. So maybe it will spread to ships with hyperdrives?

Or is there something lore-wise different about a hyperspace ring that would mean it only sticks with the Republic? (As in, ships w/their own hyperdrive would not use them in combat, but ships w/the ring would).

Huh. The Trifighter comes with some kind of condition marker token.... I wonder if that has to do with the Networked Calculations card.... Perhaps the Trifighter only gets to be networked with one other ship, and not all of them?

IIRC, the ships doesn't have Network Calculation, it has another ability that says : you can reroll a dice for each target lock on target ship. You cannot spend target lock to reroll dice when attacking.

My eyes aren't thanking me, but I hope you guys will 😛

For the Actis, Obi-Wan and Anakin both reference "you or a friendly Eta-2" (bold text) in their abilities - Anakin's seems to be

"After you a or a friendly Eta-2 ___ at range 0-3 executes a maneuver ____ something something 1 something spend 1 Force something"

The Hyperspace Card (since that's what the icon seems to be) reads as follows:

Setup: you may be placed anywhere in the play area beyond range 1 of an asteroid, beyond range 3 of all enemy ships, and beyond range 3 of the enemy table edge.

The ring reads:

1 Delta 7 Aethersprite, Eta-2 Actis, or Nimbus-7 may dock with you.

While a ship is docked with you, ___________. When you perform a maneuver, reduce it's speed to/by 1. If the maneuver is speed 0 or lower (stop symbol) you may rotate 90 or 180.

When a ship is docked with you _________.

Trip fighter has ______ Calculations:

It seems to read "your networked calculations ______ the following" - I imagine it's a replacement effect, since it then has "___ calculations: while you" and then some text I can't read.

The I4 seems to have Networked Calculations as it's Pilot ability, in addition to Networked Calculations, presumably so that you can take the card that changes your Networked.

The 3 dot I3 has:

"Setup: after placing ____ the ______ condition ____ 1 enemy ship"

The (looks like 1 dot? 2 dot?) I3 has:

"At the start of the engagement ___ you may acquire a lock ___ range 1-3 that ___"

The I5 has:

"During the systems (?) Phase ___ spend your lock on a ___????"

Everything else is too small and hurty for my eyes to make out, sadly.

My humble, not very developed thoughts on Jango, is that it will force you to use more aggressive mods like TL instead of eyes, or more defensive ones like Evade. If it becomes Meta who knows, maybe people start bringing juke all around and the joke's on him 😂

But seriously, I think it depends on having Slave 1 as an equipable title or not. If you can change a 3 turn to the other side, then the blocking game can be frustrating. But being "forced" to make a fast move to make use of your ability makes you predictable, and that's precisely what you don't want to be in the game. I can see swarm lists suffering, that's true. But I don't know, playing against Ric Olie is always more predictable than other aces, even if he's still good and can surprise by not going fast as a tactic.

You're thinking of the HMP. The trifighter definitely has the full Networked Calculations text.

It's an anti-force thing.

@HanScottFirst Was just popping in, noticed the upgrade icon for the ring was a new one too. Looks like a Hyperspace icon to me too.

The eta2 looks pretty much exactly like what I wanted for the aethersprite pack. So... Yay I called it? A ship off lol?

My original plan was that it would be a discarded base that would be a stationary base with docking rules. While it's on the board unpiloted it's just a stationary base. Like an obstacle, but not. Maybe that's what it is? Kind of a weird rigged cargo chute crossed with a deployment mechanic.

Too many cool ships at once, i can't afford these.

I need at least one TIE Brutes (two if it is fun as the Empire's my main faction), at least one Eta-2 Actis, one tri-fighter, Jango's Slave 1, and two or more V-wings. And from previous waves i still need a Nantex, a Naboo fighter, another BTL-B Y-wing and Hyena bombers, and then there's the LAAT/i (whenever it will come out) and Droid HMP Gunship, and also extra Torrent fighters (might need another Republic core set). Argh. And then there's Star Wars Squadrons coming out, and i need a HOTAS for it, plus some non-Star Wars stuff...

Also, had to laugh.

I called it that the only way we will likely get a black one paint again was in a event exclusive (which will undoubtedly rip the community in twain once again) And here we are with a Res pack and no black one. Welllllllk fuuuuuuuuu....

😂 🤣 I hate it when I'm right.

Not that I care. After 8 and 9, I'm just watching the fire lol

From text posted in a reddit thread and the text posted here, it looks like it's just a stationary remote that doesn't do anything without a ship docked. With a ship docked, it uses the ship's initiative and a modified version of its dial. Where the real issues come in is that usually a docked ship can't attack, and it would suck for anything other than points fortressing if you had to spend a turn with no mods bumping it in order to dock, just to get an ablative shield that prevents you from attacking...

My kingdom to a person who can divine what that new Poe and Snap text is.

I'm not terribly optimistic, unfortunately 😕 The biggest issue I see is the initiatives are exactly the same and more crucially, they didn't move Snap to the A-Wing. I'm concerned they have the same abilities as before. From the very limited amount I can make out it seems unlikely, but I'm a little wary.

Also, as a Rebel secondary player, I am deeply offended that it seems the RZ-2 is getting a fourth I5 pilot, A FOURTH I5 pilot while the pathetic RZ-1 still doesn't have any . We only have one I4 pilot and he's usually in a support role!

The heralds of hope pack has 3 small single turret arc indicators in the spread shouldn't it only have one for the a wing? New upgrade or spares?
