Bara Noble Rush aka Lanni Killer

Well - sounds like you had a situation where Valar was clearly NOT the right play. Nine tiems out of ten though - if the Baratehon player has spent two Seats, chained in Sally's Crew + a Lord + an Entourage - has two or three cards in hand and six or seven on the table - Valar wins the game for you and stops the rush cold.

Hah if only things were that simple. From my experience playing Cha0s' Baratheon deck (all too many times) situations that Staton and Kennon describe are far more common than situations you describe.

Valar Morg hurts Bara in theory much more than it actually hurts them in practice.

My experience is much different.

Valar sweeps away all the claim soak and support chacraters and leaves a couple of duped or Bodyguarded unqiues - who have now lost their saves in repsodning to Valar. two or three kneel effects =- and even with the claim 2, suddenly; the Baratheon player is wide open and the re-spawned Lannisters swarm through the holes.

Its a scenario i have seen duplicated time and time again over the past six months. Sometimes you'll hold off Valar with Power of Blood - but you still lose your non uniques - nad with Fear of winter so preavlent - half the time you don't even get enough dupes or svaes in place. Just not a fna of throwing aorund 3 and 4 cost characters - who by the way have no other special abilities like renown, stealth, deadly.

So... I'm wondering whether the Summer -build used in the Midwestern Melee was a developed version of this deck? At a quick glance I would think that running 3x Ned would be a good idea in the current environment as it can also be used to cancel saves on Blackfish etc.

...oh and which one is Grimace Robert anyway? The Infini-Stand one looks most like Grimacing to me... =)

LOL To me the KotS version is grimacing. CS Robert is laughing.

The Core Set version is called Grimace because he looks like Grimace .

We always call him Fat Bob. And is this the deck (or it's framework) that Staton used to win this weekend?

Funny - we call him Grimace too. We need a Mayor McCheese though.

Yes, this was the deck he used for joust and won with. It was also the deck we based our melee decks off of.

Which makes me want to post a new thread asking why the bara players get nailed so hard every melee game. lol

Because they deserve it?

OK, there were a few changes I had to make to this deck. I couldn't find anymore Samwells so I only had my one. I replaced him with two vale refugees, which actually helped speed up my flops. Which was definitely a good thing because of Kevin's Fear of Winter first turn. I took out the River Bandit for a Devan Seaworth and a Street of Steel. Both of those were meh. Didn't really see either all day really. I think those were the only changes though. The Red Wedding was def the MVP of the day. I think I won two games because of it. I'll post more on the results thread.

I know you won against me with it. *sigh* Even after I was the one that told you to put it in and all.... you'd think there'd be some common decency to not use it against me.

A lannister player lecturing me about common decency? I laugh at the absurdity of that post, sir.

To which I reply that I played Lannister not a whit this weekend.

and you didn't win anything did you?

Yeah, and I didn't pick the best plot ever either.

o0o0o0o0o0o...that's cold. granted, that beard was awefully distracting, and he makes me look dumb in his tourney analysis...you know, now that I think about it, you're right staton, will didn't win diddles. take that kennon.
