[Fort Huachuca] Cochise Squadron Mini-Tournament Part II

By Admiral Calkins, in Star Wars: Armada Battle Reports

Everyone had such a good time at last week's event that we decided to hold another one this week (before I have to take a gaming hiatus). We had five participants, three Imperial and two Rebel, all with different commanders and a mix of squadron-less to medium fighter coverage. Because of some previous engagements, we were unable to play a full round robin, opting for a four-round Swiss instead. The SSD ruled the day, but was almost taken down by the two lists that did not contain a large ship.

The Lego Starfighter was a big hit last week, so we went with a similar prize this week.

Below are the lists and the results. Please let me know if you have any other questions about the tournament or individual games (I will be posting my games in this sub-forum over the next week).

Hope you enjoyed the BATREP of our "event!"

I'd love to hear from the winner about how he used his TIE Phantoms.

He’s not on the forums, I’ll have the BATREP from our game up tomorrow or Tuesday.

No title, either. Intriguing.

He originally had the Ravager title on the ship, but dropped it due to not having the points to generate a Concentrate Fire token or to change his Navigate / Squadron command token to a Con Fire (when first list-building, he thought he could get any token from the SSD, instead of one of the corresponding command dial).

I'm the Hammerhead player. I went second and he chose my Fighter Ambush. He split the Phantoms between trying to speed bump my squadrons and trying to put damage cards on my ships. Neither went all that well for him. He rolled poorly against my ships and didn't have the toughness to hold back my squadrons, though he did eliminate Hera. I lost the game because I only did 20 damage to the SSD and lost all four Hammerheads. The Pelta survived with one hull.

I can see why you struggled against him. Damage control officer means he can ignore all your APT crits, which must have vexed you mightily.

I burned them out pretty fast, with five per turn, starting at long range. I took it down to 2 hull by the end of the game for a final score of 260-250. Missed it by THAT much.
