Happy Friday

Well Kids Happy Friday.

There was a slight delay in posting due to pew pew pew.

Question for the week, How many points does the Scum Tie Fighter need to come down for you to play it?

I want the I2 with fearless for 20.

Happy Friday, CB!

Did someone say Scum? Ha ha. You couldn't give me enough points to fly the Scum TIE. I just don't like it. Maybe not the answer you were looking for.

I have one. It belongs to Seevor. I fly it when I want him to annoy my opponents.

No points change needed.

Agreed. Though Scum is my secondary faction (FO is first), I use Starvipers primarily. Guri and Seevor would probably give my opponent a migraine. Now that I mentioned it......... 🤔

I own one at the moment and have only flown Seevor. If I had more I would like to try the generics out, but maybe would need to drop a point or 2 to really consider them over M3-A's at the moment.

The generic Scum TIEs are at a decent price. The named ones outside of Seevor are priced far too high.

Overseer Yushyn lets a ship that reloaded shoot. That's what? The Y-Wing, the Kimo, and a Firespray with Andrasta? Not worth 3 points over the generic of the same initiative. He should be 23 or 24 points.

Ahhav has more utility than Yushyn or Proach, but he should not be 30 points as his ability is not effective against most opponents. Drop him to 27 points to match a named I3 TIE from Imperials.

Seevor is just right.

Foreman Proach is way off base. His ability is niche at best, and has only gotten less effective now that tractor has been nerfed a few times. Seevor is way better an cost 2 points less. Drop him to at least 29. I still wouldn't fly him at that price though.

The generic MGTs are fine. They are reliant on green dice and can die fast (or sometimes live forever). They are cheap throwaway distractions and blockers.

What hurt them most was the introduction of gas clouds, esp the first totally negative free version of gas clouds.

They can only make use of their ability while moving through one out of free obstacle types, which is a matchup dependent thing.

They are one of the cheapest snap shot platforms, but that is really not worth it at current points and current force prevalence, you can not get damage through.

Of the aces Seevor is fantastic. Although he nowadays is more of a Biggs, opponent goes for him immediately. And Jedis, Rz2 or Silencers very easily sidestep Seevor's bullseye.

Ahaav is very matchup dependent, and therefore slightly too pricey.

The other named ones are not worth it. What hurt them most was FFG's inability to write rulings. Yushyn and Proach (apart from being overcosted even with old tractor) were not working together as RAW. And while very very clearly RAI, the north American judges ruled it as not working *) (and one of them on record saying he does not like MGTs).

And then FFG took over 8 month to clarify, that "yes indeed it is working". At that time gas clouds had come and were in full swing. So they never saw play. They would need to come down a lot.

Apart from the fact that these ships almost never reload anyways in a 75min deathmatch. Y-wing dual and MGT dial also not a good match. Even if they would reload one(!) ordnance charge, and even if they would have Yushyn nearby, they are tethered to range 1, they still need a target lock. As selfish basterdz Scum there is only Maul available or even another coordinator ship needed to get a double mod ordnance shot while reloading. So many points and hoops to jump through, just not worth it.

*) While the NA judges ruled the B- wings as working, which RAW they were not clearly and unambigously, before FFG judged "they do because we say so".

🥺 by as much as the Rebel TIE... they both exist more or less in a vacuum from other TIES that have force multipliers.

Let’s get em on the board!
