On June 12th, prepare to immerse yourself in a grand struggle that will decide the final fate of Middle-earth! Held at the magnificent Fantasy Flight Games Event Center in Roseville, MN, The Third Age offers a packed schedule filled with unique surprises. If you love the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, this event was created for you.

FFG offers a number of fan-favorite games that draw upon this well-loved lore, and The Third Age will highlight three of them: the earth-shaking epic battles found in War of the Ring, the ground-level adventures that unfold in Middle-earth Quest, and the delicate balance of power portrayed in Lord of the Rings: The Confrontation.

With plenty of staff on hand to help guide new players, you'll enjoy the thrill of exploring Middle-earth in new ways without the typical pressure to compete. Our innovative Achievements system for scoring tournament rounds has been designed not only to encourage participants to try their hand at new games, but to offer a balancing metric across all game systems.

At 12:30pm join Corey Konieczka, the lead designer of Middle-earth Quest, for a discussion about his experiences designing for such a well-known and long-loved fantasy setting. Three lucky winners will even get to play a game of Middle-earth Quest in which Corey himself takes on the mantle of Sauron!

Finally, two additional activities will round out the day's events. Have you ever wondered how to play a table-top miniatures game? You are cordially invited to a skirmish battle in Games Workshop's The Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game. Featuring a beautifully hand-painted set of Fellowship models, you'll face off against a group of fearsome Moria Goblins, and if you're unlucky enough, a massive Cave Troll! Think you know your Tolkien? Put your knowledge to the test in our ongoing Lord of the Rings Trivia Challenge, and score points with answers both simple and obscure.

Regardless of what events you choose, your results in each individual game will count towards your personal grand total for the day. In addition, everyone's scores will help collectively determine whether or not the Free People can hold Sauron at bay! How will The Third Age come to a close? Who will prevail at the end of the day? Only you can decide!
