TTS

By Gupa-nupa, in X-Wing

A few questions about TTS for those of you who are more familiar with the platform than myself.

1. Is there a way to slide templates while setting up your squad? I usually use the templates as a way to measure the distances between the ships and it is impossible to do that if it "picks up" the template each time.

2. As a CIS player is there a way to use the DRK-1 Probe droids with the automatic movement like the ships? For similar reasons as above, its a nightmare to move them manually with the template.

3. Lastly, is there a common place to post if you are open for a game? When im looking for a match, I just title the room "looking for match" and include the format and such. This rarely works, and more often than not, the people who join dont actually know how to play X-Wing.

Any help with these would be appreciated!

1. Flick tool doesn’t work for you? That’s what I use for sliding elements on the table.

2. I haven’t used them before, but there has to be a way.

3. There’s a discord server all about TTS ( https://discord.gg/46dGyx ), includes a “looking for game” channel. You can also find other local play groups to post up if you have one.

Ive tried using the flick tool, and although it's much more precise than the normal drag and drop, Im not very good at usng it. I guess thats more user error rather than a fault of the devs. As for the Probe Droids, I did a quick online search, and it produced nothing. I guess I will just have to mess around in game for a bit and see if I can figure something out! Thanks ScummyRebel!

Yes you can move them like ships. The probe droid template itself has a built-in way to move it. Just click on one of the 5 white arrows on the probe droid template to choose one direction and then choose a bank or a straight maneuver.

Ah! I see that now! Thank you for that!

For setting up, an easy way to get distances between ships is to show the range from a ship you've already placed. Click the left button on the movement dial and pick the range bubble you want.

Ask your opponent if they're ok with you doing this first, because you get a small amount of extra info due to the bubble extending out of the setup area, but nothing important.

And Discord is where many games can be found, or Facebook. Many x-wing groups have dedicated channels and also FB pages.

If you reduce the 'lift height' it makes it easier to move things accurately ... at the top of the screen, there is an icon of a little guy lifting weights. If you reduce that down to 0, things you are dragging around won't lift off the mat, so you can be a lot more accurate with placements.

Thanks @Rich P ! That was exactly what I was looking for. Another (probably stupid question). When you are boosting using the button on the dial, how do you use the turn template with Daredevil? Is there another way to boost?

You need to right click on the ship, and in the 'description' field type TR1 or TL1 (Turn Right 1, Turn Left 1) then click off the menu and the ship should execute it.

The best place to ask these questions for a much faster response is on the TTS Discord (Linked earlier in the thread) :D
