Reinforce action in epic battles

By AfreakinNinja88, in X-Wing Rules Questions

I am wondering if there will be an FAQ or a patch for the reinforce action in epic battles ?

Because as it stands by definition of "front or rear firing arc" being limited to range 0-3, any attack made from beond range 3 is not classed as being in arc of the reinforce token, therefor huge ships can effectively ignore any other ships reinforce token as long as it is shot using hardpoint weapons from beond range 3.

Will this be corrected ? or is this classed as a fixed rule/quirk for epic?

we do not know. currently, you are 100% correct. arcs only extend to range 3. huge ships are no exception.

this means reinforced ships do not gain the benefit of being reinforced when attacked from range 4 or 5.

if there will be a rules update is not known by anyone on this forum. if you have questions or concerns aimed at the developers of x-wing, please use this form:

Wait... Folks are saying Reinforce wouldn't work against Range 4-5?

F***ing kill me now.

Its probably an oversight, or maybe not. Reinforce isn't as useful the more defense dice you roll and since at range 4-5 you get 2 bonus defense dice anyway, it may not really help that much if it did work at those ranges. Not saying its not intended to work just that it isn't as detrimental as it seems.

In any case, Epic games can just be 'house ruled' and you can just make it clear for your game that it does work.
