I considered building drawers into mine. To lower the overall cost I'll probably end up putting bins on the bottom shelf instead. Other options to consider would be whether you want a vaulted play surface or not. I decided not to so I can use the entire top surface for a game if I need to.

The main reason I ended up building a table instead of buying a table was cost. Also I've noticed that most dining room tables and even most gaming tables you can buy are too low since they're designed for sitting. So by building one I was able to build it so it's at a better height for standing.

That is what I’m doing. Sort of bar table height .
