Hey! Ive been looking around for an AI app to play against with the whole Covid pandemic. Ive been using this website( http://x-wing-ai.com/index2.htm ), and loved it! But, i want it as an app on my iphone, so after some looking, i found this https://apps.apple.com/us/app/x-wing-ai/id1170239055 . Any thoughts on it (is it up to date/high quality/buggy/ect...)?? I see that it has in-app purchases?? What are those for??

I coded the x-wing-ai.com web app and I own the website for it. I have not converted it to either an android or IoS app. x-wing-ai.com is free and will remain that way. The IoS app you referred to was written by another guy.

Here's another way to get x-wing-ai on your iPhone or Tablet - for free: simply download the xwing_ai2.zip file onto your iPhone or tablet, unzip it and run it on Safari or using a local HTML viewer from the app store.

You can download xwing_ai2.zip file from the x-wing-ai.com website: go to the Info page (click on the "i" icon in the upper right corner) and there is a link to download it on the Info page. Or just click this link :

Glad you are enjoying the app. Give it a try also using the new HOTAC+FGA AI that I just finished coding. The HotAC+FGA AI is the best available (in my opinion), created by Claes Sorrenson and Flight Group Alpha. There are 27 ships available in that AI (8 Empire, 8 Rebel, 9 Scum and 2 FO).

All of the AI variants (1, 2, and HotAC+FGA AI) are included in the zip file (and on the website).

I love the iPhone app, the subscription is to use certain ships which I’m more than happy to pay since he’s done an amazing job with it. It’s definitely worth it.

Hey there, I'm the developer of X-Wing AI for iOS!

I recently updated the app to account for Second Edition and added a ton of new features. Every ship (except two huge ones) have now have their own custom AI. First Edition wasn't removed either, so you can swap between both if you'd like.

New features in the update include:

• AI for all X-Wing Second Edition ships
• More robust AI - bullseye direction and new "target already moved" logic
• Track hull and shields for enemy ships
• Remember your ships between launches
• Automatically add token IDs for each ship to differentiate swarms
• Attack, agility, and actions for each ship for handy reference
• HotAC/FGA compatible ship sorting based on activation or engagement phase

First edition AI is free for Rebel and Empire factions up to a few ships. Unlocking Scum and unlimited ships each require a small, one-time purchase. There is a small subscription required to use the second edition AI.
