Hey Party people I just built my first Tank for Old Rep and man was that fun so how are people running them right now, any good strats and how are you painting them?
Tanks Tank Tanks
Well, I run the CIS, but standard color scheme are what tickle me!
I ran mine in a grand army battle the other day, it was so much fun fielding all those droids!
Tactic.
Point towards enemy. Fire.
I maybe not that great at legion...
My local group doesn't run them.
They're too many points, which could be taken up by 2-3 other units, which equals 2-3 other activations etc.
They don't quite bring enough bang for their buck IMO.

I have a Republic list with 6 corps units, 1 Commander, 1 Operative, and a tank. There really isn't a way for me to get more activations by dropping the tank right now, and I'd rather have 1 tank than 2 BARC.
Once more stuff releases the tank will be the first thing to go.
The AAT is pretty solid and very consistent. The biggest issue right now is the activation count which will get higher once BX are out. The tank will really shine with a cheaper commander.

Thanks a lot mate!!!

To be fully honest I haven't used them on the tabletop yet. Coronavirus and delayed release has seen to that. But... I bought me two AAT once they came out. I can make an 8,9 or 10 activation list with two AATs in them. Bringing 16 red dice almost every turn on two units with armor keyword and red defense dice, can make up for lower number activation lists. I'll let you know how it fares in the real world once they got the tabletop.

I assume you are using unreleased units to get to 10? Because it is otherwise impossible.

Yes, to get to 10 activations you have to proxy a pair of commando droids for the sniper team. But with the currently available models you can easily put together a 9 activation list that should be fun to play.
Had a lot of fun with it in it's first few outings
I don’t own any CIS. I am tempted by the Republic tank though, albeit it’s a long time between games and a lot of money to drop. Part of me says “there is no way I can get points value out of this” and part of me says “I like big guns! Do it!”
When I’ve run Empire, I’ve 99% of the time (read: every game but one) taken the AT-ST. So I guess precedent is there...
The republic tank is a lot of fun. I held out getting republic until it came out and I always use it. Then again, I'm also the guy who almost always takes an occupier with my empire, and the times I don't it's because I'm using my at-st instead.

I LOVE HEAVIES!! They are so dang neat and fun to play!
I've only been able to play one game with it so far, and it did decently overall. The standout moment for it was when my opponent hit it with the Saber's main gun, TLT, and a fire supported RPS-6 and scored 8 crits. I had a surge token, and rolled 7 blocks and a surge.
Pros- I will have a second tank
Cons- ...but I will have a second tank
I regret nothing, this is so much fun

That just makes me think of the scene in Rogue One where the AT-ACT did a complete no sell on Baze's rocket launcher.
Here is mine
