Yes.

So, just to be clear - during the battle the League killed 4 infantry, and 2 more in pursuit?

And the League lost 3 infantry total?

Yes.

Ok - Summer has begun.

Units available for recruitment:

4 Artillery, 6 Cavalry, 11 Infantry.

Please PM or discord me your bid, and we will go from there!

The League of Frightened Men are placing bets among themselves to guess how big the Greedy Nobles' bid will be.

:D

You won't believe what they bid!

Their competitors were shocked when they revealed their bid. . .

You think you know how much the Greedy Nobles bid? Guess again. . .

For more click-bait headlines, please pay gold.

They bid 20.

Yes, 20.

Ok.

League bid 6, and Denn Grylls bid 4.

So 4 is the lowest bid, setting the price.

GNIPs can choose 5 units (including 1 artillery and 1 cavalry max), then the League can choose 1, and Denn Grylls can choose 1.

(Then GNIPs chooses another 5, League and Denn Grylls 1, then GNIPs another 5, League and Denn Grylls another 1).

Interesting!

I'll just pre-book in my preferences now - If Artillery available, take it. If Cavalry, take it. Otherwise, Infantry.

Go!

Also - time to start thinking Summer campaign moves.

@LTD could you explain this to me? Can I recruit one extra infantry each time it's my time to pick a unit?

Infantry Bonus: You can always recruit 1 more infantry in a province than normally allo w e d.

I think that is for placement.

We'll take 1 Artillery, 1 Cavalry, and 3 infantry.

That leaves: 3 Artillery, 5 Cavalry, 8 Infantry.

We'll take 1 Cavalry and 1 Infantry (I think that's allowed?).

Possibly. If you replace the word "recruit" with "place" then it makes more sense.

I am pretty sure it is. That leaves 3 Artillery, 4 Cavalry, and 7 Infantry.

I think @LTD wants 1 Artillery and 1 Cavalry, leaving 2/3/7.

I think his 'locking in' preferences above was so that we can proceed without him should he be unavailable. Should we continue with selection, or wait for him to post?

Yes, I think LTD intended for us to proceed without him due to the time zone difference.

LTD can only choose 1 unit. And if my infantry bonus applies only to placement, not recruitment, then the same goes for me. I'm beginning to think your interpretation makes more sense than mine.

If that's the case, I'll take just cavalry, LTD will take artillery, and it's your turn again.

Ok. So then before I go there is 2 Artillery, 4 Cavalry, and 8 Infantry left.

I'll take 1 Artillery, 1 Cavalry, and 3 Infantry again, leaving:

1 Artillery, 3 Cavalry, and 5 Infantry.

I'll take 1 Cavalry.

LTD takes the last Artillery.

Now there are 0 Artillery, 2 Cavalry, and 5 Infantry.

I'll take 1 Cavalry. LTD gets the last Infantry.

That leaves me with 2 Artillery, 3 Cavalry, and 10 Infantry, you with 3 Cavalry, and @LTD with 2 Artillery and 1 Infantry.

OK. We should be all set for Summer campaign.

Just woke up.

Good job.

Yes, GNIPs interpretation of the infantry bonus is correct.

You can place one more infantry in a province than is normally allowed.

Ive set up my campaign orders. Please send me yours.

@Bertie Wooster

Chatting with GNIPs, I just want to clarify a few things -

Hypothetically, if my force in Katsina (K) attacked Chibok (C), and your force from C moved to K, they would meet halfway and fight. If my force was defeated, your force would occupy K, and my force would retreat from K. If your force was defeated, I would occupy C, and you would retreat from C.

This isn't like other games we've played here where forces can jump past each other - although it looks like Space, it isn't.

Is this clear-ish?

Summer orders received:

Denn Grylls:

Obybra: Forage

Katsina: Forage

Logo: Move to Ikom (10inf, Hero)

League of Frightened Men

Nganzai: 6

Chibok: 6

Jere: 6

Gboko: 1 (move to Yala)

Etung: 5 (defend)

Greedy Nobles In Perpetuity

The army at Mafa forages, the army at Hawul heads to Agatu, and the force at Agatu goes to Etung.

The army at Agatu has 19 units, so costs 3 coin to move (That's a big army!).

We have a battle at Etung:

League of Frightened Men - 6 infantry, 2 cavalry, Hero. BONUS: Defending, Superior MDL, Hero.

Greedy Nobles: 14 infantry, 3 cavalry, 2 artillery, Hero. BONUS: Hero, Artillery Superiority.

Let me know the outcome!
