I don't think 90 points would be an inappropriate price. That doesn't exactly answer the question.

Thing is, I probably wouldn't fly S1-Only Boba, even at 80 points, just because I don't know how interested I'd be in flying it. Style mismatch, and I don't know what list I'd fit him into. I'm not interested in flying no-upgrades Han, but I would be in no-upgrades Leia (probably with three T-65, like @Transmogrifier did against me once). That doesn't mean the baseline prices of Han or Boba need to be lower. Another example: Non-Afterburners Vader is probably still worth taking, but I'm not super interested in flying him. Well, maybe that 4 x1 list I saw a while back, but mostly I'd rather just build some wildly different list.

Now, would I spend 95 points for Boba with Slave 1 and 0-0-0? Or 100 with Hull Upgrade? Probably, and I think 0-0-0 is probably correct at 5 points. I think I'd pay 100 points for PerCo/ContraC/S1 Boba. So I'd pay 90 points for just Boba and Slave 1--if I could also take a few other upgrades.

This also makes sense. I'm a 0-point strut fan (the cost should be baked into Vultures and Hyenas), and I could see Slave 1 being mostly the same way. Likewise Andrasta. I don't know for sure that this would be better, but it'd be a reasonable choice from FFG.

Is it that Maul is bad on anyone but Boba, or that anyone but Boba is so bad that a actually-good Maul can't close the gap?

For example, Maul on Ketsu is pretty neat, but still not amazing, but that's Ketsu's fault rather than Maul's. I bet Maul is pretty solid on Koshka Frost, too. But like, why not just Boba?

I'm sure Fifth Brother (Gunner) is good on folks other than Whisper (and Duchess), but Whisper is just better than anyone else you'd put Fifth Brother on.

I think the cost for the slave 1 title is fine when it is used with boba, it is his ship after all, maybe change the cost for other pilots or maybe errata boba so that only he can use the slave 1 title card.

86 pt Sv1 Boba is probably still competitive....

Inasmuch as the missing 13-25 points are competitively contributing in the rest of the squad.

86 Boba is probably ripe for an optimized 4 ship list.

Exactly what that list looks like right now...we have yet to see.

I guess my conclusion here again is mostly that I don't think points are the perfect solution here, and I'd hate to see Boba become no longer competitive because people are tired of a solved meta.

It was also an explicit design goal of the last points update, across the scum faction actually. They said they wanted to reduce title costs and increase the chassis to accommodate in order to foster that singular/iconic lone-bounty-hunter feel.
