'Epic Battles' expansion worth it, if only playing Clone Wars-era, and Quick Build format?

As above - sort of looking for something to add some interest to the game beyond the endless deathmatch-after-deathmatch format.

This expansion sounds potentially interesting, adding some scenarios with challenging twists, but...I'm unclear how well it works with Quickbuild-format play, and particularly smaller collections (say, only about 2 of each of the Clone Wars releases, including faction sets).

Any thoughts on that?

Have you played using the Environment cards from the Devices and/or the Obstacles card packs?

Otherwise, Epic Battles has things like Aces High and other missions in which are not dependent on having any particular faction or a large collection of ships. However the cardboard bits and Wing rules will be less useful to you - although making your own custom wing leader for an aethersprite plus torrent escorts would be crazy fun!

Which might be why it's not an official card...

Epic battles is absolutely worth it if you are seeking games that are different than “kill em all dogfight!”

Many of the scenarios are not many more points than a standard dogfighting match - 300 points is where a lot of them stand (they also mention a quick build threat number that I cannot remember)

Also, epic battles includes some new quickbuild cards, so I would say that it fits rather well. Quick builds even include wings where it’s a Jedi leader and some torrents flying formation with their Delta 7 leader (and the other side has a Belbulab escorted by vultures).

Also, bear in mind the point or threat level suggestions are just that: suggestions. If you want to tweak them out, go ahead and give it a go! Just make sure your opponent knows what the game is set to and can build accordingly.

I hear HotAC for 2e is coming along nicely. You could give that a try.
