Hasbro just cancelled their Transformers CCG due to sales. If that franchise can't make it as a CCG I don't see a relaunched L5R having a hope.

Hasbro cancelled the Transformers CCG for the same reason they cancel all their CCGs- so that Magic is seen as the only one that is worth a long-term investment.

WotC cancelled the Harry Potter TCG when it was literally the second best selling toy line in the US.

Hasbro has extremly high expectations of their products. They canceling a CCG doesn't mean that someone can't make a profitable CCG with a lesser known IP. That said Asmodee also expects a lot from their products, so I wouldn't have high hope for L5R CCG.
