I got in a game today with my usual weekend opponent and thankfully we were going back to a 400-point game. He decided to finally put a Super Star Destroyer on the table and I wanted to take Romodi out for a spin. Here are the lists:
Name: Jerjerrod's Eclipse
Faction: Imperial
Commander: Moff Jerjerrod
SSD Command Prototype (220)
• Moff Jerjerrod (23)
• Commander Vanto (7)
• Wing Commander (6)
• Damage Control Officer (5)
• All fighters, Follow Me! (5)
• Gunnery Team (7)
• Expanded Hangar Bay (5)
• Enhanced Armament (10)
• Eclipse (3)
= 291 Points
Squadrons:
• 6 x TIE Phantom Squadron (84)
• 2 x JumpMaster 5000 (24)
= 108 Points
Total Points: 399
My opponent's plan was to overwhelm my ships and/or squadrons with his Phantoms before crushing them with his SSD. The Jumpmasters were there for Intel so that the Phantoms could go directly after ships.

My plan was to move the obstacles to support Romodi and to destroy my opponent at long range.
I had initiative and chose to be second player. My opponent chose Station Assault as the objective.
Deployment: I placed two of the obstacles and the stations in a pattern so that I could maintain obstruction and that his SSD might go over the asteroid and debris fields. I then deployed the Grav Shift Reroute and Grav Well tokens. He placed the SSD in the Grav Well so it started at Speed 0 while still being in range of the stations. I placed my Arquitens in a conga line facing to the left, with my Interdictor coming around from the left to hopefully finish off a wounded SSD. Using Grav Shift Reroute, I moved the obstacles to attempt to obstruct a right turn from the SSD and used the stations to protect the right hull zone of my Arquitens from the squadrons (but I could not get them out of long range of the SSD).
Round 1: Activating his SSD (after passing to my Interdictor), he immediately pounced on the stations with his Phantoms, finishing off the left-most one with a long range shot (and gaining a Victory Token). And this is where my plan went off the rails: Being at Speed 0 from the Grav Well Projector, he didn't use his navigate token gained through Commander Vanto to move forward. Since he had the station and all his squadrons in range, there was absolutely no reason for him to move. Knowing that there was only four hull left (on the remaining station) keeping his Phantom ball away from my Arquitens, my conga line took off.
Round 2: He activated his SSD first with a Squadron command, sending six of his Phantoms against Darth Vader's Arquitens before destroying the remaining station at long range (earning another Victory Token). He made a JJ-turn to the right to chase down my Interdictor. Frustrated that my plan had completely dissolved and that I was about to be overrun by his squadrons, I turned my Interdictor to the left and starting running. I did the same with my Arquitens, but in my frustration/disbelief, I forgot to flak the Phantoms . With Concentrate Fire commands queued up for Round 3 (Skilled First Officer), Linked Turbolaser Towers on two of my Arquitens, and most of the Phantom ball in three or four arcs, I f orgo t to flak . Rookie move, "Admiral" Calkins.
Round 3: He got his squadrons in position to chase down my Interdictor. I continued to run away.
Round 4: He attacked my Interdictor with his Phantoms and the SSD, before it moved shields to the rear and ran away. Knowing that I could not even destroy one of the Phantoms from here on out (I needed Repair commands queued up), I didn't even bother to shoot at his squadrons or the SSD.
Round 5: The Interdictor weathered another round of poor Phantom rolls before moving out of long range of the SSD.
Round 6: After the Phantom swarm got one hit from 12 dice, my Interdictor survived and the game was over. My opponent came away with a 80-0 win (7-4, 80 MoV).
Thoughts: Not my finest performance. After my plan fell (I honestly never considered the Grav Well Projector being used to my opponent's advantage...), I failed to concentrate for a round and it cost me. If I had conducted flak attacks in Round 2, I would have likely destroyed a Phantom or two while seriously wounding a number of the others. That would have been a game-changer, as I could have surpassed him on points if I would have destroyed them (84) or brought them down enough so that he would no longer engage with them (allowing me to then focus on the SSD). He made an excellent tactical decision by not moving forward into my firing zone of 15 red dice. I am going to try this list again at some point though, as I do not think this was a good test to judge Romodi as a Commander.
Hope you enjoyed the BATREP!
