Suffering excess Damage when a ship is destroyed

By topacesteve, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hi i came up a situation lately, my Quickdraw was Hull 1 and he gets 3 Hits passed from Poe (Hit, Hit, Crit).

How does he receive this damage? He only gets 1 Hit and the other Hit , Crit are ignored

Or he draws 3 cards nevertheless?

Since Quickdraw would fight back before removed its important if he gets the crit or not (e.g for Weapons Failure)

all damage is dealt. if the number of damage cards exceeds the hull value of the ship, it is destroyed. it can be dealt any number of damage cards before that, though. you can even attack ships that are destroyed and deal additional damage cards to them before they are removed.

for example, if a resistance player is first player and attacks with han solo, dealing quickdraw enough damage to destoy her, the resistance player could attack quickdraw again with a proton torpedo from poe, in the hopes of dealing additional critical damage cards to quickdraw before she could attack, since they're all the same initiative and she would't be removed before all ships at initiative 6 have engaged (including herself). this could hamper quickdraw's ability to attack by dealing her a blinded pilot or a weapons failure.

an extreme scenario, but perfectly legal.

Thank you !!!

Its good to note, that even without a simultaneous fire situation, you still deal the number of damage cards to the ship that it suffered, even if it exceeded its hull value and you would remove the ship right afterwords.
