Tie Adv Salad

By Schanez, in X-Wing Squad Lists

  1. Ved Foslo: FCS, Mag-Pulse Warheads
  2. Seventh Sister: FCS
  3. Fifth Brother: FCS
  4. "Echo": Passive Sensors, Elusive

Caps out at 199/200. All I4 and able to be extremely agile. Ved Foslo gives the V1 a Hard 1 and a Blue 1 Straight.

Ideas? Opinions?

I think these would be better upgrades.

Ved (Crack Shot, FCS) 47 - Crack Shot so good. Mag Pulse don't really add much to Ved, IMHO. He's low in the attack order, and already gets 3 dice from his primary weapon when Locked.

Seventh Sister (Hate) 46 - Hate seems best. Having enough force to always use her "crack shot" seems more important than FCS

Fifth Brother (Hate, Passive Sensors, Homing Missile) 53 - Dude loves a missile. Like Sev, having Hate to help ensure force to use his ability seems pretty handy.

Echo (Crack Shot) 52 - I don't like Elusive on Phantoms, they really hate to pull red moves due to stress breaking the Evade chain. Passive Sensors don't seem worthwhile without Force Charges. Like, it's not bad to add a Lock action, but you can just Focus and that's equally good in nearly any situation. I'd just rather spend the 3 points on something else.

maybe you can try this,

Seventh Sister (43) Sense (5) Ship total: 48 Half Points: 24 Threshold: 2

Fifth Brother (42) Passive Sensors (3) Homing Missiles (5) Ship total: 50 Half Points: 25 Threshold: 2

"Echo" (51) Ship total: 51 Half Points: 26 Threshold: 3

Ved Foslo (44) Elusive (3) Fire-Control System (2) Ship total: 49 Half Points: 25 Threshold: 3 Total: 198

sense on 7th sister works well with all the ships you choose.

i'm not convinced about ved floso.....

in general i think he can really shine but only paired with a coordinating platform (with kagi/palp/title he becomes a monster) otherwise there are better options.

  1. Echo: Outmaneuver, Passive Sensors
  2. Sister: FCS
  3. Brother: FCS, Homing Missiles
  4. Ved Foslo: FCS

I like Ved, because he can shoot anywhere in the order, threatening crits to unmoded defenders or forcing people to burn tokens.

Edit: An alternative option is to drop Outmaneuver and swap Ved Foslo for Pure Sabacc with Elusive and Targeting Computer.

Any way you cut it, put Homing Missiles on 5Bro. The synergy there just can’t be ignored.

I could also run a...

  1. Fifth Brother: Proton Rockets
  2. Seventh Sister: Proton Rockets
  3. Echo: Predator
  4. Turr Phennir: Predator

196/200 with some mobile ships. My problem with Homing Missiles is the Lock requirement. And I found myself more often than not taking the Boost>Focus or Roll>Focus when flying the two. I can use Proton Rockets with a Focus and while without a Lock you cannot re-roll, it is still 5 Red Die. Echo and Turr are just the nimble annoyances. Each ship can disengage quite well, if need be. More so, Echo with Predator will mostly take a Focus or Roll, stripping the need to spend actions on Locks.

EDIT:

I would love me some Fifth Brother with Mag-Pulse Warheads though... That would be absolutely wonderful. Homing Missiles are cool, but I just don't fully get the vibe of them. Then again, the ability to just push two damage through without any form of prevention is sweet.

And that’s the whole point of the Homing Missiles. They’re practically guaranteed to give the opponent a decent punch, or an absolute haymaker if they choose to see the dice instead.
